Hi!
I'm new to the world of Oric computers having recently bought a 48k Oric-1. It is in really great condition and I have a modern PSU and RGB video lead for it too. It all seems to work fine - I can load some games via the cassette interface (my best testing so far).
I wondered if the Oric community have any advice to share regards future-proofing my Oric? It looks like it has never been opened as the warranty label is stuck properly in place (which I'll invalidate to get to the screw to open it up ). Should I just leave it alone and fix if something happens in future; or should I be proactive and get things like the voltage regulator and caps changed for example?
I'd also like to load software (mostly games) more quickly and reliably. Perhaps an SSD expansion type option? I've recently come across the LOCI project which looks awesome, is this an end-product yet? I don't think the basic ROM on the Oric needs to be upgraded to extend the software that can be used because some expansions can do this instead?
Any pointers on how to get the most from this great little machine will be much appreciated.

Yes get yourself a LOCI and your Oric will have a bright future indeed!

It is by far the best peripheral for the 21st Century Oric - providing storage and ROM upgrade capabilities as well as peripheral support - no modifications required.

Awesome, thank you! I'd seen the long chat discussion but wasn't sure where to get one. I've placed my order - possibly got the last one available there just now!
