Mission Delta

Post by coolman66 »

Has anyone ever translated Mission Delta it’s seems to be one of the best games on the ORIC but so complex without a translated text I hope that sometime in the future someone will attempt to translate to English and so give to the Oric world another fantastic ( in my opinion ) game !

I have a tape with a Spanish versión. The game looked great in the box... a bit disappointing at play. It is done fully in Basic and you don't have a mode to see outside the windshield. Only instruments.

The spectrum version is called Intercepteur Cobalt.

Was it an official release?
Many games seem to have been translated into Spanish by two companies (whose name escape me at the moment).

I think so, yes. It came with a small manual that I lost, unfortunately. I also have a Spanish version of Le Rendezvous de la Terreur. Translations are quite bad and, sometimes, partial.

I even may have the tapes somewhere!

Here are my Spanish games, though I cannot remember if "Ajedrez" (chess) was actually translated.

Pity I lost the manual for Mission Delta and the outer (big) carboard box for Terreur.

Would you like me to send them and check if you can preserve the content??? Not sure about the conservation. Probably bad :(

I sure do, if:
- you have no means to make WAV files
- you trust Post services
- you're not in a hurry to see them back as I'm being quite busy whith changing home, selling, renting and it should last for a while
(yes, that's a lot ;) )

So no hurry at all :)

I will find time to put them in an (padded) envelope and send it to you. But whenever you have finished moving :) Just let me know.

For crystal cases, what helps a lot is to put some sheet of toilet paper (the fluffy comfortable type, not the single sheet sand paper army issue type!) wrapped around the tape before sliding it into the case, this way that helps avoiding pressure outside to crack the case.

I will still be able to do it when I visit my parents, I still have the required tape player, PC and scanner there. So it could happen before I end all the mess around my moving :) I just don't know when I'll visit them, very certainly at worst for Christmas.
