Atmos replacement keyboard

This is the right place to discuss on how to implement hardware vsync, adding a VIA or AY chipset, puting multiple roms, or how to design a new flash expansion card.

Atmos replacement keyboard

Post by protek »

Are there any projects for an Atmos replacement keyboard PCB that would utilize Cherry MX switches and caps?

Asking for a friend.

I am on the way to design keycaps with cherry stems but I need real measurements. So if you have a real Atmos, could you please get some measurements?

I have found this one (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4680024) but maybe only valid for row 1 if there are differences across rows.
It would also need to softer edges.

At some point I was imagining an Atmos modification to have a wider case, with a built-in numpad, but for practical reasons it would have been using modern cherry switches, the difficulty was to make the keycaps with the proper colors and markings, including the weirdly shaped SHIFT and RETURN keys with their small steps on each side.

SHIFT and RETURN are not a big problem to design, they can be made as the union of two keys one wider and shorter for the lower sides and a normal one but I first need to know the real measurements.

For the markings I will put a sticker.
