Here is the place to discuss about the magazines (CEO Mag, OUM, Rhetoric, Theoric, Hebdogiciel, ... are all welcome here) and books.

An old Turkish Oric-1 ad from a Turkish magazine

Post by peacer »

I came across to this ad from 1980's magazine from Turkey.. Its called "Bilim dergisi" ( Science magazine ) ..

It describes main features of Oric 1 in upper right corner..

In the lower right section, it says :

"ORIC is an education and work computer that can be used by people of all ages.
It can be connected to any color or black and white television for display, and to any tape for program loading and information storage. It does not require any special devices.
English and Turkish user BASIC manuals and tutorial program lists are provided free of charge with the computer for you to learn BASIC language.
We also have many Turkish educational games and business programs."

And at the lower part of the ad inside blue ribbon : "ORIC is the most economic education and work computer of Europe and Turkey"

The name and adress given as Turkey distributor was a firm called "Albim" .. They even published Turkish Oric magazines and games back then..

This firm still exists, selling computer stuff, printers etc.. Once I contacted the owner of Albim years ago if they still have something related to Oric .. Unfortunately as you can guess.. He remember Oric days nicely but there was nothing in their hands for today..

What's it called? Does it have an ISBN number?

I could add it to the list of books - currently at 105 titles.

The book is at my parents home and I can't go there due to covid period for a while. Then I'll let you know about it.
