I had plans to make a video on the Joystick interfaces, by I only have the Opel model, so that's kind of limited content for a video :D
Five minutes ago I saw the Protek model for sale at the french flea market...

It's really cheap.

The problem with this interface is that you cannot use it while you have something connected to the expansion port...

That's why the IJK seems to be the best option for Cumulus, Cumana (and other) owners, as no much folks use the printer port.

Cheers.

Exactly, all the games could be reprogrammed to use the ijk interface compatible with all drives, the interface signals its presence by D5, the game can detect it, and the music is not disturbed. The only problem is the lack of energy on the db9 socket for a TOM2 for example.

TOM2 would be just useful for new USB joysticks, but as there are still plenty of standard Atari type joysticks on the market, it is not personally a real drawback for me.

Right, so today I've ordered all the necessary components to make five IJK joystick interfaces...

I don't know when I'll receive everything with this Covid-19 fuss, but at least items ordered here in Japan should arrive pretty fast.

The other issue is when I could assemble the interfaces, as my schedule is quite busy and I have other projects (like repairing my Atmos...) and also a family life.

I will keep one interface for me and sell the remaining four units for 40 Euros (postage fees by registered and expedited shipping included) to interested persons.

Dbug (because he showed interest) and - if interested - kenneth and Silicebit. (for their help with the interface) would have priority on the waiting list. So only one unit would remain for someone else...

Just a precision, there is no case supplied with the interface in order to lower the fees. If a 3D print specialist is eager to make a nice black and red case (such a the one for the Amplibus on a Spanish forum, made by overCLK), it would be fantastic.

Cheers.

HigashiJun, I'd be in on your project, but I've already blown my budget for retro- stuff this month. I would also like to help but I think my time is better spent on the Orix/Twilighte card project, which also has joystick capabilities in the requirements list... so I will watch this project with great interest, with a view towards the Twilighte-card future...

Just one question: Is there anywhere indicated on the PCB that it's a IJK compatible joystic interface?
It's kind of nice when that's indicated, to avoid the "hmm, what's that interface exactly, looks like joysticks, but which type!" type of questions :D

And yes, I confirm my interest for one of these, just to be clear :)

Thanks!

On the copper side of the pcb there is a text "IJK joystick for Oric"
