My new Cumana drive ;)

This is the right place to discuss on how to implement hardware vsync, adding a VIA or AY chipset, puting multiple roms, or how to design a new flash expansion card.

Post by zaxon »

Well, was few days off so i finally assembly my Cumana interface ;)

Display OLED 2,42 from Ali, Microgotek running under Flash Floppy firmware ( my construction) plugged direct in to Cumana board as floppy emulator. Metal case , some drilling and 3D printing (front panel) and drive is ready ;)

Nice! Did you have to make some tweaks to Flash Floppy to make it work?

I've got a few FF's, mostly in use on my Amstrad and Spectrum systems .. would indeed be nice to have the same rig for Oric if it meant read/write capabilities.

Ok, here is idea. It is my floppy drive for Atari, so i plan do something like this for Oric , build in 3,5 drive and Gotek. On front panel is enough space for display , USB and encoder. ABBA switch for swap drives GOTEK/FLOPPY . Metal solid case, price approx 60-80 GBP depend of orders. Who in?

Nice job, it's impressive, maybe the componants could be soldered by the factory?

SMT assembly , It is still to expensive in small batch. I have 6 maybe 8 boards sold for now so will be hand made ;) Not big deal ;)

Also, for Oric with 2 Eprom, i do expansion board with 2 ROM and proper detect signals what can be usefull

Looks nice!
Is the button designed to select the .DSK floppy on the USB key?

I have Goteks just like this on my CPC6128, C64 and and ZX machines, so having the same thing on Oric is gonna be sweet.

Nice design !

It would be great to have a "red letters on black background" LCD screen to match the Oric Atmos colors, such as the one below:

Still IN though...

Keep-up your good work.
