Atmos "Kopy"

This is the right place to discuss on how to implement hardware vsync, adding a VIA or AY chipset, puting multiple roms, or how to design a new flash expansion card.

Atmos "Kopy"

Post by Voyageur »

I have made a copy of the keyboard and the mother board (removing some "unwanted" components).

Here is a live demo of my "Kopy 2019" :

Some soldering and hours, but everything is possible, specially in summertime !

Have a good day ! :)

Is that an Oric Atmos clone, then? Really nice!!!

What are the 'unwanted' parts? I guess the TV modulator and what else?

Congratulations, incredible work!

Incredible work, indeed! Next step is to attach a (O)LED display and the Pocket-Oric will be born :).
Don't take my words very serious, but actually this is not bad idea :!: ...

The TV modulator, the negative power supply and the tape interface are omitted.
I've added a Led, a potentiometer to set the sound level.
All ports are present.
Everything on a 10 x 15 cm single side board...

I would like to add a SD card for file storage, maybe via an Arduino (something mainly copied from 'Oric SDCard' made by EdL42)...

And yes, Iss, why not an Oled screen ? Indeed a good idea, actually !
Just add a 12 volt battery, a main switch and a decent enclosure... we are closed to a 6502 laptop !
Just a dream...

Does not even need to be oled, some of these old nokia screens (like the one on the cumulus) have a resolution of 240x240 pixels, that would fit perfectly with the Oric resolution and fit on top of the micro keyboard :)
