BASIC 10 liner contest, Anyone?

Post by peacer »

There's a competition for retro computer users. You are required to write ten line basic program. Maybe an Oric coder wins :) I just wanted to let you know about it. Of course our programs will be on PUR-80 category.

Maybe interesting projects would be developed. What do you think?

"Already a tradition in the Retro Computer Enthusiast’s community, the 2019 edition of the 10-Liner Contest has started and will run through March 30th (6PM CET).

Sponsored by Homeputerium, the contest challenge all BASIC programmers to come up with something amazing using only 10 lines of code. Since its establishiment eight years ago, the contest has received 312 10-Liners!

The three categories used last year are back (FREI category was dropped) as follows:

Category “PUR-80”:

Write a game in 10 lines (max. 80 characters per logical line, abbreviations are allowed). Only built-in BASIC variants are allowed.

Category “PUR-120”:

Write a game in 10 lines (max. 120 characters per logical line, abbreviations are allowed)

Category “EXTREM-256”:

Write a game in 10 lines (max. 256 characters per logical line, abbreviations are allowed)

All

For the submission process, the organizers ask the contestants to suggest an emulator which can be used to run the program, alongside a brief description of what the program is about.

Also, make sure you are not using any hacking trickery like self-modifying code or machine language. All commands must be in BASIC!

The voting process will be conduct by experts, but this year everyone will be able to vote for the “Public’s Choice” award. Make sure you follow @Basic10L on Twitter!"
