Incidentally I saw this ad on eBay today

Maybe a source of ULAs for repairing Orics?

HCS 10017 indeed seems like Oric ULAs.

If anyone has the gumption to bid on this and win, I'd happily split the lot and help pay for it .. I can't bid on it personally, however..

I found some on Ebay.co.uk (they were in Bulgaria). I've just got some and will test them soon to see if they work OK.

The font on the chip photo seems suspicious, but who knows

The provider from above eBay link - insa_electronics is really from Bulgaria.
They have full bags with rare electronics parts and sell only on-line.
My friend jorodr knows personally them and probably can give an opinion if one can trust them.
And Yes, the font on the chip is really suspicious, but I think these are the 'absolutely genuine' chips which were used in Pravetz-8D production.
This is a close-up picture of my Pravetz board to compare fonts (just for fun :)).

I got some. I've tested the first one and it seems to work fine.
I don't know about the font but it looks right to me. The paint would be stamped on so may vary depending on how much ink is loaded. The numer underneath on mine is 8422 (I think - going from memory), so it may be a later batch(?)
I doubt anyone would bother to make fake Oric chips.

They only have a few more available in the auction though they may have more in stock. Price is very reasonable so if you want them place an order. The only other places I've seen them are in trade warehouse sales. They want to sell in bulk so will sell you hundreds. Unlikely anyone wants that many Oric chips! And the price asked wasn't very good. I've asked and used my business name to enquire but either not had a reply or not found anyone willing to make a deal - so the Ebay auction is the best bet. Stock up while you can.
