Missing games from Oric.Org
Re: Missing games from Oric.Org
@coolman66: Thanks!
The game is kind of pacman clone and is nice.
It has own entry at oric.org, just needs to be updated .
Very interesting is how it's made - the second part starts with basic code which is loaded at not standard address by the first part...
Also it can be played with joystick too, I will check which model is supported and will add IJK-egoist support soon.
Attached is the combined file and (confirmed) it works in ORIC-1 mode only!

I transfered 'Master paint' onto disc. With possibility to save and load your 'chef-d'oeuvres' on disc
I also scanned the notice, only fourteen pages but 3,5 MB... If you are interested in, MP me I will send it to you by e-mail.

Re: Missing games from Oric.Org
Not a game, but I just came across this bit of history - the Oric Retailer Demo. Apparently Oric during early 1983 finally realised they needed to give retailers something to show to customers. This rather drab tape was the result! There’s even an ‘Illegal Quantity Error’ in the Hires option, and it doesn’t autorun (or maybe they’re loading errors ) A debugged autorun TAP file, anyone?

The illegal quantity error might not really be a bug, it doesn't happen if you run the program with ROM 1.0!

Re: Missing games from Oric.Org
Yeah I just want to say: THANK YOU DAVE! (EDIT: And everyone else contributing to this effort too of course!)
This has been one of the most fun threads to return to every week as you post more and more stuff .. and its like re-living the glory days of Oric, waiting months for new software to appear in a magazine to type in, or whatever .. only its like freebase because this thread is so dense with thick content. Just amazing fun, and really rewarding for this old Oric nerd.

Re: Missing games from Oric.Org
Hi Jonh, just seen this post. I'm sure I typed some of these games in from the actual magazines but I'm going to double check. I will let you know my findings in due course! PS Thanks for the link to the GC scans, much appreciated.Jonh wrote: ↑Fri Oct 22, 2021 12:54 amI’ve been checking these as I’ve uploaded them to Oric.org - over the years some of the info on type-ins has been speculative or duplicated. The results are (unless you know differently!):Here's some of the missing "Games Computing" games, 15 in total.
Egg Catcher - Personal Computing Today, March 1985, never in GC
U-Boat - PCT, also March 1985 issue, never in GC
(I have the originals of these first two)
Painter - not GC, but I don’t know in which mag or when it was published (but I did put it on the Public Domain list, CPD-27)
Alien Invasion - not GC, but again I can’t place it
You can check all issues bar one of Games Computing here http://www.flaxcottage.com/GamesComputing/default.asp
There seem to be no Oric type-ins in the missing Feb 1985 issue going by the cover.
Great work, Dave!
