Are you sure you're not trying to load Oric-1 games on Atmos, or Atmos games on Oric-1? Did you test the TAP files first?

You'd need to be more specific about what you call "ko"? Files Not playing, not loading, errors ? Classic mistake with TAP2WAV: don't use any switch to make WAVs for Euphoric, use the "-11" switch if you want to make WAV files for a real Oric. If you used the -11 switch, your fil...

To be honest, I find the small characters rather painful to read - but that's just my opinion!

That means the game uses specific loading routines, and could not be transfered to .TAP files.
You have to load the WAV files with Euphoric's hardware tape (F1 to go to the menu screen). Once loaded you can dump the memory if needed (F9 key).

Thanks, sadly I don't have electronics knowledge so I'm not able to read this ;-)
I'll bring the drive at the meeting to have some opinion about it from our hardware experts!

Just a question - were the Jasmin 2 connectors exactly the same as any 3 1/2 floppy drive?

I got a Jasmin 1, which seems to boot fine too but the drive seems dead. Problem is that the connectors are not the same. Did you use any adapter?

Re: Searching synchro...

The wav I was having problems to convert to tap was obtained as a save from Author. Probalby, Author is not using the rom's load/save routines and, concequently, is not recording the synchro and header that synchronize() is expecting. My problem was solved when I commented all lines inside synchron...

That's strange! Can your Wav file be downloaded somewhere?

Mmmm... That coud be a reason indeed. I emailed Fabrice Frances about this. Maybe he can help here. I also would like to disassemble the loading routine in tap2cd and see what it is doing. Maybe he is making a call inside a routine which has been modified. Yes he seems to call (at least) the sync r...

Anyway, my question is still there. Why two wavs, generated from two taps with tap2cd and fed into the Oric under the same conditions will behave differently? One always generating a parity error and the other never generating it? Let's focus on this. IIRC, a program converted with tap2cd holds 2 p...

Short reply, it's late. You indeed have the early bugged ROM 1.1. Tap2cd probably works because it has its own loading routines, and IIRC the "standard loaded" part is loaded in the stack so could get automatically executed regardless of AUTO mode or not (just a guess I'm not a stack speci...

It's Christmas :D Build 1014 changes ------------------ - it is now possible to manually insert .tap tapes with the menu interface (it was previously only possible to insert .wav tapes when in hardware tape mode). - recording a program on a .tap now writes four synchronisation bytes ($16) instead of...
