All the issues of Théoric are now on Defence Force

Still thanks to François Shuler, the 37 issues of Théoric are now present in the Oric Library:

That's about 1 gigabyte of non compressed PDF files, so you can read them on-line directly :)

Have fun !

I think the issue is deeper than the availability of the CEO Mag. The Mag is just a side thing relative to the club activities. As a real club there is a financial amount (small one) to pay to be a member of the club, which gives you access to the magazine, but also the services offered by the club ...

Not in any version of XA I know of, but probably not that complex to implement.

Actually as a debugging listing mode can be kind of practical.

Have to think about it :)

Yes and no. There's been Basic compilers (compiling a BASIC program to a machine code program), but that's Oric to Oric. Oric to PC can be done using an emulator pre-packaged with the program, and they indeed have that on Spectrum. Guess you could do a custom version of Oricutron with a preloaded ta...

Miniserve is dead

...not even doing "beep" when switched on. Contacting the reseller for the guarantee/support. So in the mean time, service still not restored.

Thanks :) Actually there are two servers: - www.defence-force.org is a professional host at Yahoo! (USA) where the main website, wiki, forum and ftp are hosted, at the current moment we use about 70% of the allocated disk space, and 0.01% of the bandwidth. - miniserve.defence-force.org is a small se...

Update. I managed to get access to a root shell by booting the non working 8.10 version of Ubuntu in fail-safe mode, from there I was able to successfully update to the version 9.04. Apparently things are working fine, the backup works, apache runs, the cron job to generate the IRC stats as well, an...

Update. It appears that the machine stops after booting Ubuntu after the updated to 8.10 version. Interestingly, booting with a 7.10 or 8.04 live cd works well, booting with a 8.10 live cd does not. Looks like some regression somewhere. Currently debugging the issue with some #ubuntu-fr support peop...

Apparently the system update I did has been causing some issues, potentially forcing me to reinstall everything, so while I'm at it, I will try to upgrade from Ubuntu 8.04 LTS to some more recent version (since then Canonical released 8.10, 9.04, 9.10 and is going to release 9.04 LTS next month). Wi...

Miniserve issues = no SVN

Hi, two days ago I did a system upgrade on Miniserve (the machine responsible for the SVN server and IRC stats), and it appears to have died twice since. I will try to diagnose what happens during the week-end, but in the mean time the subversion service will not be available. Sorry for the disturba...

I would suggest contact the CEO, they have a certain number of Microdisc/Cumana components (motherboards, controllers, schematics) so possibly could be what you are looking for. You may also want to take a look at this thread: http://forum.defence-force.org/viewtopic.php?t=19 Contains documentation ...

Fancy looking stuff for sure, but does not come cheap!
- $49 for the color screen
- $29 for the card reader
plus I guess the Arduino Mega must not come cheap. That's DeLuxe hardware :)

Kind of a shame that this 0.96" device has more power than the whole Oric.

I would call that "pretty good" instead of "not bad" :)
