use 4bits for the sample and the other 4 bits or some of them for the duration. it acts as a crude compression method, but as your only using 4bit audio there will probably be noticable savings by doing it because you will probably see regular multiples of the same nibble.. my home-made logic analys...

if there is any power comming from the old psu,
open it up, screws on the base are usually hidden behind plastic caps that pull out if you drill or melt a hole into the center of them.

then replace the rectifier and capacitor and your good for another 25years! 8)

ijk's damsel in distress played some pretty severe music while it loaded.

i had a loader that scrolled the filename on the top line as it loaded.
it didnt need interupts, i just updated the line between received bytes.

@Dbug You are right. It's an error. But I cannot find it, somewhere I must access zeropage 0 directly (without using a label), and searching the sourcecode for "0" is not a fun thing... If I start a new project I will take more time for planning before starting to code... load the game in...

i wrote a program once that could do a hires screendump to the printer by pressing the warmstart button.

was real good at taking snaps of xenon-1 etc.

i'll have to try & ocr it or maybe even re-type it!

also more expensive than ferro-ram.

if you want to try a 29f256 then look for very old motherboards.
some used the dip version for the bios.

also old modems, but it's hard to check if they have the right part till you buy them.

it may be possible without any extra chips,
but you need to know the state of the via outputs at reset,

also, you must write a trap handler into $FFFA-FFFF for safety before you disable the rom or an irq/nmi could crash the system.

plcc is no better than tsop for prototyping on stripboard.

besides, the ferro price i listed was u.k. - if you source from the u.s. then it's about £3.70

flash is cheaper, but only comparing £3 to £7
and it's getting harder to find flash that is in a dip package and not just tsop.
