I just spotted this OTHER video about Damsel In Distress, along with Lone Raider, posted on another YouTube channel less than 24 hours ago. It's a long watch at almost an hour - haven't watched it yet but fully intend to today. Enjoy!

Re: John Gage reviews Damsel In Distress!
I think every level was equally ridiculous from my hazy memory of using the level-jump cheat. It didn't make the experience any more fun for me
I have dispatched the next game to John for review - Oricium. Should get a less annoyed result.

John Gage reviews Damsel In Distress!
So a week or so ago I sent a load of Oric .tap files to John Gage to review. He replied that he gets lots of review requests so asked for just one, I chose Damsel 'cos I know how angry he gets at hard games and they don't come more difficult than Damsel! I haven't watched it yet but be warned, there...

Re: missing titles
Pretty sure Cricket was Alistair's first release under Mirage. If memory serves, it was graphically basic but my brother was quite addicted to the game.

Re: Connecting to a tape recorder in 2019
No matter what you will find, it will probably struggle with at least one publisher, due to the large variance in azimuth and volume. Thanks for that pointer. An advantage then I have is that I mainly want (NEED!) the recorder to record and load my own stuff, so the publisher will be me :) Loading ...

Re: Connecting to a tape recorder in 2019
I still have no cassette/data recorder :( Any that I find online either have horrendous reviews or lousy pictures/descriptions that don't include port/socket info. I have the lead connector from Cool Novelties - https://www.ebay.com/itm/ORIC-1-ORIC-ATMOS-CASSETTE-TAPE-RECORDER-CABLE-LEADS/3217750328...

Re: The QUILL
To clarify, has Krystal Worlds (1) been transferred to .tap yet? Would love to see it again. It sure was, remember! ;) http://forum.defence-force.org/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=1738&hilit=krystal&start=15#p16097 I would never have guessed it was already almost 3 years ago  Wah! I compl...

Re: The QUILL
I Quilled Krystal Worlds I but wrote KWII in 99%.9% BASIC / 0.01% machine code. Quite a different experience, having to create a parser n stuff. Good memories. Anyway, my point being that I still see sites listing KW2 as Quilled when it was not

Re: Gamebase Oric V1.00
Just played Tetrix for the first time in ages. Scored 160. Not bad. Not great.

Re: Alphaville's Big in Japan (Vortex->AY->YM) , mymplayer.s moded (vumeter)
I like it - a lot. Good work! I could easily see this playing in the background to a game and blowing the socks off the player. Out of interest, how much memory did it use? Would it be feasible as a game background, memory-wise?

Re: Gamebase Oric V1.00
Andre Widhani provided zero prior knowledge of Tetrix until it landed on my desk as a new game submission for Mirage. Quite the surprise out of the total blue and a brilliant game. Still, IMO, the most enjoyable version of the game on ANY system. Just found it funny that it arrived literally out of ...

Re: Connecting to a tape recorder in 2019
From what I see, there are a few duds in tapes, but most are fine, what's recommended though is to first try to unpool them a bit manually to see if nothing is stuck, and if everything is fine, then put it in the drive and do a full unroll and then rollback to make sure all the band is nicely loose...
