Re: oric with ANDROID

Re: Faulty orics

open the power supply and replace the capacitor in it. if the supply looks sealed - it's not. some had plastic caps pushed in over the screws. drill into them or put a soldering iron through them - then screw a wood screw into them & pull them out. or try to hook them out with a small screwdriver.

Re: What is the oldest PC computer capable of running Euphor

it should run o.k. from dos,

one bit of advice - replace the harddrive with a compact-flash card & ata-adapter.
the drive will be ancient, slow & power humgry.
and you dont know how much life it has left.

and use freedos if you can.

i can see right away that one issue would be mixing upper & lower case in the name.

windows is not case sensitive - Linux is.
wine cant change that aspect becuase it could cause more problems than it could solve.

slashes are reversed too - paths may not be translated correctly.

windows is not compatable with windows - it's just a marketing name for a long line of products.

go into the wine config & try changing the windows type.

check for errors, or ignore them?

bracket-hell.
assembly is much cleaner.

do you have to somehow say that the variable your messing with is global so it doesnt just create a local one with the value of 4?

i know some c/c++ compilers are a bitch in this respect even though i have never used these bastard "languages"

if your using something on the bus that has it's own psu - even if it's just an inline regulator or zener diode then it can be a problem. infact it was stupid of tangerine's engineers and they should have known better - all it did was save a few pence - literally on the mfr costs. infact it bit them...
