An Oric (and printer) for sale in the UK

Someone at the Retro Gamer forum is selling a bundle of stuff that includes some Oric wares: http://www.retrogamer.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=33125 The thread may get pulled as the poster hasn't met the 50 post limit for sales (to try and avoid fraud as there were some issues), but as its a '...

Re: What is the oldest PC computer capable of running Euphor

The slowest computer that I have used Euphoric on is my old 486 (with 100Mhz CPU and 16MB RAM). It has Win95 on it and runs Euphoric for up to (maximum) 8,5Mhz of (emulated) Oric CPU! But, on 386 with just 20Mhz CPU I wonder will Euphoric manage to boot at all? Under plain DOS (no Windows on 386)? ...

Re: Euphoric on a mobile device?

I've almost got Euphoric running on my iPhone 3GS via DOSPad:

I think I've just got a minor config issue, as when I launch Euphoric it tells me:
Can't open sound dump dump.psg (Please check or modify your .ini file)

Re:

Having some kind of paint program which could import graphics, edit them and simulate the oric screen (such as HIDE does, but within Windows) would be perfect for designing. Did such a tool ever get produced? I'm trying to play with some graphics to see what I can achieve, but none of the PC paint ...

Re: Stormlord

Game development in general across all the 8 bits wasn't quite this advanced during the Oric lifespan. Stormlord was released in 1989 for the C64, several years after the Oric had left store shelves. Its a shame that our hardware never really got to shine during its day as its proved to be quite cap...

GEEK is Gaming Expo East Kent

The Replay crew have a hand in it

The site works on my pc but on iPhone the content is wAaay down the page after loads of blank space.

Anyway, if you're near Margate you might want to visit

GEEK 2012 starts today

I can't attend this one: http://gameexpoeastkent.co.uk/ But I do know there's at least one Atmos on display (and hopefully playable) as I sent it there on Monday :D I couldn't find my tape deck (I've no idea where I've misplaced it since November) but thanks to Symoon's recent discussions on WAV fil...

Probably easier to look at a MIDI conversion tool.

That'd be pretty simple as far as the first couple of tracks.

Once you get to more than 3 instruments it could start to get tricky.

Might I suggest getting in touch with WorldofSpectrum.org and asking there who deals with the distribution issues? They have the Spectrum version so they should have had the necessary permissions granted. If they have an inside contact or some agreement it may be that they can give some leverage for...

Hard as this may seem, there's no escaping Alternative's copyright. Simply saying 'it's a new version' won't work. Its clearly a copy not just in visuals, but with its timetable, the AI methods, the game objectives and means of achieving them... Aside from it being a port of the code to a new platfo...

There's a small mention of us at Replay and some pics on Jason Kelk's blog here: http://jasonkelk.me.uk/2011/11/return-from-replay-2011/ I'd also forgotten to post this, the second of the posters I knocked up for display but didn't get the opportunity to print: http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a25/A...
