Alot of stuff done since my last log. I've replaced the scorepanel (same general layout) with something more visible and sorted the puzzle editor so now able to complete the game. There are currently 50 outstanding issues raised both by myself and my playtesters. Looking now at the general remaining...

The samples that I sent you from the c64 were of any use? This does concern me a little. I have been promising this game for so long there may have been many of you who have helped me in getting the game done but who i have not thanked. Please let me know if this is so  Thankyou for all your ...

Stormlord

Stormlord was the new game i'd been working on and now after about 3 weeks of fixing bugs raised by my gallant testers Symoon, Ibisum, Yann, Chema and Dbug and after 8 years abstinence from any new release i can finally say its finished :) Its from the same name of the game on the Commodore 64, Spec...

A new game will be released later this weekend. In the meantime i took the spare time to get back into finishing Impossible Mission. I've now made some real progress and that was just today. I've done the Ethan Droid/Spark collision detection and he burns nicely after electricution  Finishe...

Ok, got back onto IM last night and added some more collision code so that now when hero runs into Droid and Arc or Orb he'll get electricuted and passed back to the entrance with lifts reset. I'm going to ignore the half lift height issue for the moment. It does have the advantage that the hero can...

For the rest, I use everything in windows, using almost everything in the OSDK, Crimson Editor to edit source code, Perforce/Subversion for the source code versions, Paint Shop Pro + PictConv for the graphics. hehe, yes forgot to mention using Crimson for source code editing.. though such a shame t...

Turbo, Error handling and Counters during Tape Load

One subject that used to intrigue me was the idea of turbo or special Tape loaders. For the Oric this is just as possible as on other micros and in some ways actually easier. I say easier because technically Tape load can be done on an interrupt (Tape input comes from CB1 i think which can be set as...

Is the hardware limiting this, or simply a domain nobody ever explored? I know there is a way of loading very quickly from CD, but it requires a very good signal (CD), while the turbo loading from other computers (speccy, for instance) worked with normal tapes. Ok, since i don't want to move too fa...

Why filepack is not always the best option

If i filepack my complete game intending it to be loaded from tape then depacked, if there is one single byte wrong, the most likely scenario would be the decrunch would also fail and the loaded game would not work :( However loading the full 48K game with errors will not neccesarily crash the game,...
