Re: Mass storage options for Oric

Are there any projects related to making a floppy emulator that runs on an RPi? I got a Pi1541 for my C64 and I’ve been quite satisfied with it. The problem with emulation of floppies in the Oric is the controller part. This is quite a complicated piece of hardware, which interfaces through the exp...

Re: The Hobbit: Disk, Erebus,...

He he great. I did not remember that thread at all, and that it was Silicebit who brought the disk version on the first place... my memory is failing quickly!

How did you get th tap version? I am curious. And I am also very curious about what you did with Defence-Force... please tell us :)

The Hobbit: Disk, Erebus,...

Hi everyone! I am quite sure we talked about this already, but it has come out in the Facebook Oric groups, so... The Hobbit seems to use non-standard loading routines, so it is not working from EREBUS. It also fails to load on Oricutron, unless you disable turbo-tape. I am also sure that this is we...

Re: Dungeon Master on the Oric: 24 years later

Use the arrows and space bar (and let the user redefine the keys maybe)

Then maybe use some shortcuts for usual actions, something such as SHIFT+T for Take...

Similarly to what I did in Blake's7 :)

Re: How to use MACROS with OSDK

You cannot use macros.h as is... There are many definitions missing. If you just want an example of a macro with parameters here is one, from the sources of 1337 (multiplication routine http://miniserve.defence-force.org/svn/users/chema/1337/TINE/oobj3d/lib3d.s) #define MULTAY(par) sta MultLo1 : sta...

Re: Pictoric (was: New conversion algorithm)

For me AIC is simply a technique that allows you to display colourful background images over which you can render masked sprites with much less attribute clash. The technique is based on alternating different colours for each line and make use of fill patterns and scans set as inverse. From that on,...

Re: How to use MACROS with OSDK

I am not sure I understand, Didier. Are you trying to use the macros included with the C compiler? Are you trying to define your own macros (they work the same as in the C preprocessor, using #defines)?

Re: IJK interface diagrams.

A friend of mine is building one, and could not find an usable Gerber file with all the data to do it. He struggled to make a board with all the available info around and, I think, he is now waiting for some component to test it. If you could point us to the post in Oric.org with the info, it would ...

INIST is already supported in Tap2Dsk (-i parameter)
Yeah. I knew that (it is used in Space:1999 and 1337), only trying to list what a new tool could have :)

Re: Assembly functions for Sedoric OPEN, TAKE, PUT, CLOSE

tap2dsk is designed to convert tap files (cloadable mostly) into disk files that can be loaded within sedoric, handling things like multi-taps. I am not sure if it makes sense to add all this complexity, and mostly how to do it. As I only used this to add binary data into my disk and then load it wi...

Re: Assembly functions for Sedoric OPEN, TAKE, PUT, CLOSE

Which version are you using? I am not aware of any bug in version 0.7, and it would be great to report to the author. And it let's you add files with no header (you can specify load and exec addresses by hand if needed). Now that I mentioned it, I went to the app and noticed you could change only 3 ...

Re: Assembly functions for Sedoric OPEN, TAKE, PUT, CLOSE

I suppose that I need to modify tap2dsk, so it lets me add raw data files... Any clues you may have would be most welcome! I am not sure what you are trying to do, but if you don't mind installing java, there is a took that lets you add files to a dsk with drag&drop. I am not sure if they need to b...
