Re: Changed of hosting strategy

I don't really need anything, other than patience for the rest of the services that need to be fixed, which at this moment are: - We have no backups in place (on my old machine I had a cron job + BackInTime + copy to my NAS + manual snapshots of the entire server file system now and then), so I need...

Nice place Chema

Mike .. it goes far faster than before
For me it's slower, so I suspect it was not a problem with the machine speed, but with the ISP/routing.

Well, that's a totally different story, like any owner of an Atari ST would tell you :D

Re: IJK-egoist new joystick interface by [raxiss]

I love the design and how it fits on the back of the Oric. What worries me most is the mechanical stress on the connector... something to worry about? I don't think that should be a problem really, I've seen issues with the connections to the flat cable on the printer cable, but not the connector i...

With all those extensions, it feels like you guys are building a desktop Oric.
Technically, it's more like making the Oric do what the Apple II had from the start: Slots for expansion boards inside the case :)

Re: CEO Summer Meeting in June

For this type of events, it's often a good idea to update the first post with the final date and time, including (as Symoon mentioned) the time zone.
(Generally I actually also write the UTC time so it's easy for everybody to convert to whatever retarded Daylight Savings rules they are using :D)

Re: Monitor or TV?

If you happen to find some old Commodore Amiga CRT monitors, they generally have a super good picture quality. Some don't have SCART, but they accept easily RGB signal, and the pinout of the DB-9 connector is available, you can just direct- connect the pins without any resistors or added power and i...

Re: Protek joystick interface diagram ?

Some other computers (like e.g. The Enterprise 64/128) had a better attempt at this sort of thing, by having the onboard OS ROM go through the memory map looking for "ROM signatures" which would allow it to find and enumerate any ROM extension, give it the opportunity to do things at startup, maybe...

Re: Character Set Editor and Generator

I'm looking for a tool that runs on Windows PC and which allow to load, edit, and export charset for Oric. It's exactly what this program do : http://forum.defence-force.org/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1695&p=15021#p15022 But unfortunately, my windows defender tells me not to use this program because there...

Re: Oric Database

I'm fine with the TOSEC naming, with just two issues: - There are still people who use DOS machines to make DSK files on physical machines, so filenames that are not 8.3 may cause issues - Is there an archive/folder system so we don't lose the extra data that SHOULD ALWAYS come with the games, such ...

Re: Oric Database

Imo having multiple extensions would just add confusion :) That being said, most os supports multiple extensions, so you could have: - defence-force.tap - defence-force.erebus.tap - defence-force.oric1.tap just an idea. Ah, the Alistair Way - I still need to convert some things. I've got stuck with ...

Re: Complete list of Oric Atmos adreeses

I'm searching a full list of hardware adresses for the Atmos.
So I guess the question was not about "hardware addresses" but about "locations used by the system".
