Re: vbcc optimizing C compiler now with Oric Atmos support

Hello Dr vbc,
IF you need, you can get inspired by my little utility "taptap" (wich is written in object pascal : Delphi and Lazarus), and the pdf doc wich synthetizes the Oric Tape format.
You'll find everything on my github :

Re: TinyCompiler : a 6502 Tiny BASIC compiler in... BASIC

Not quite sure how that work/what it does based on the description. Does it somewhat replace the main runtime by something that runs assembler version of some of the code, and then calls the BASIC interpreter for some of the BASIC instructions? Quite sure, for what I understood, you provide a progr...

TinyCompiler : a 6502 Tiny BASIC compiler in... BASIC

it's a Tiny BASIC Compiler targetting the 6502

look at this website, in the software section, "Aardvark Tiny Compiler v1.3" :
https://www.osiweb.org

source code and manual in pdf attached.

Could be funny to rewrite this for the oric and/or adapt it and extend it for windows.

Re: Digitalsound toolchain/demo from wav 2 Oric

Is this sam2ay doing things very different from what my SampleTweaker.exe does? I missed your tool and I don't know why (I discover it !) ! Originally, sam2ay is just a littl pearl routine thatconvert 8-bit unsigned sample to AY volume levels so, Is this sam2ay doing things very different from what...

Digitalsound toolchain/demo from wav 2 Oric

I used for this a few tools from the ZX community, namely : - sox.exe - Sam2ay.exe both extracted from wav2ay_src (you can find it here : http://www.worldofspectrum.org/pub/sinclair/tools/pc/ ) I used "digit.s" from dbug in its welcome sample little demo as a player. look at the osdk_buid....

Re: Alphaville's Big in Japan (Vortex->AY->YM) , mymplayer.s moded (vumeter)

Nice orchestration :) Thank you very much Michael ! You know what ? Be congratulated by the person that I consider as being one of the most talentuous demomaker on Oric, well I am touched ! He ! You did almost all the work with your mymplayer ! One thing I am very satisfied is that I learned a lot ...

Re: Alphaville's Big in Japan (Vortex->AY->YM) , mymplayer.s moded (vumeter)

blowing the socks off the player. I like it - a lot. Good work! I could easily see this playing in the background to a game and blowing the socks off the player. Out of interest, how much memory did it use? Would it be feasible as a game background, memory-wise? Let's say... 20 Kb in TEXT, 15...

Re: Alphaville's Big in Japan (Vortex->AY->YM) , mymplayer.s moded (vumeter)

Kick/Hat/Melody I just copied from my ears (absolute ear) the fundamental tonalities (7) and tried to match a few musical phrases (12 patterns exactly), only one ornament is used. For my samples I reused some from a bank of ay effects and tried to be as closed as possible of those 7 "instrument...

Here is the sourece and the built tape.

Isolved the ugly end of the music by fading the last frame with the -dfn option in ym2mym.

I think I learned a lot about assembly language on this one ! :D
