Re: Royalty Free Musics for your Oric Games

Unbelievable! Nice job! The tracks sound good. I think they are pretty good for home screen and/or menus (sounds like that to me) It's really interesting if ORIC can dynamically generate music. I had an idea to look for tools that automatically generate some music, but I never found anything that co...

Re: Ascii Frogger

This game, and the ASCII Moon Buggy, both scream for some hot DATA action to turn them into graphics feasts. I wonder what effort that'd be .. For "ascii frogger" it took me several hours (2-3). But in order to make a good game you need to invest many more hours :). Tip: use FIRE button. ...

Re: Missing games from Oric.Org

A rare game from a Scandinavian country perhaps the instructions etc could be translated to French and or English ? This is a Bulgarian game. When I was a student in primary school, I lost a lot of time on it. Here is a translation of the texts: 0 DIMC$(6),C(6),HI(6),HI$(6),Y(4),M(11),W(11):HI=33:V...

Re: Speed Ball [raxiss]

Thank you all :). Maybe in time, I will rework the game to support ORIC1 and IJK joysticks. I will take some of the levels and make a one tap file. I could imagine this engine evolving to support a side-scrolling shooter or Mario-like 2d platformer also, given its speed, maybe? Feels like it could d...

Ascii Frogger

Hi :),

I had a few free evenings and made a small "ascii frogger" which ISS used it for a benchmark.

The game supports ORIC-1/ORIC ATMOS and IJK joystick.

Here is the game:

Speed Ball [raxiss]

Hi all :), This is a small game that I started back with the "Bocco's adventures" in 2018. My main goal was to try to use the characters as sprites, dynamically changing their visualization during the game. The goal of the game is to collect all the points and find the exit from the level....

Re: Wolfenstein / DOOM for Oric : has this been done?

Interesting is the question that @Chema raised about the monochrome color and AIK. It is interesting to see what would happen :). I want to return to the issue of a completely monochrome mode (black and white). I think that interesting things can be achieved in this monochrome mode, I have seen many...

Re: CIRCLE not full screen!

Indeed, it turns out that it is possible to place a circle with a radius of 100 on the screen, but checking the ROM is too simple and gives an error. (y=100) + (R=100) = 200 - this value triggered error. Here is the test I did for radius 100 in basic version, and direct command test (CURSET 120, 100...

Re: CIRCLE not full screen!

I guess because it goes beyond borders. when I raise the radius by 1, it does not mean that the circle with 1 will increase, because of the rounding, I think so... At R = 100 it goes off the screen, albeit a single point: 10 HIRES 15 R=100: X=120: Y=99 20 FOR A = 0 TO 6.26 STEP 0.1 30 CURSET SIN(A)*...

Re: 10 Line BASIC Competition 2022!

Thank you all :). I expect you to get involved :). In case its of interest, I just had to dissect The Snake Temple and try and work out how it was done, so here... Yes, for so few lines and characters you have to think of simple solutions that work. Here is my description of the code: 0D$="$$$b...
