I would, but Dosbox won't run Win32 apps, and there are some of those in OSDK too, IIRC. Kind of a catch 22 there :? Nevermind though. There are other assemblers. I managed to get Tape Header Creator working with Wine (at least I got it started, don't know if it will crash when I try to do something...

OSDK won't run in Wine

Dbug, just to let you know: Wine (in Linux) doesn't seem to like OSDK. It will only run Win32 programs, and as I understand it OSDK has a few DOS apps in there, which seems to be the problem.

My thinking was that you could replace the cassette routines with the VIC-20 disk drive routines, so that the Commodore drive would look like a tape player to the Oric/Atmos BASIC, i.e., you'd use CLOAD and CSAVE to load and save to/from disk. It wouldn't work with custom tape routines of course :? ...

Btw, I'm thinking of burning a large EPROM with both the Atmos and Oric-1 ROMs and a switch so I can use whichever I want.

Re: New member saying hi!

Well, nothing perfect. First I would advise you to put some sticky tape or cardboard thing on the bus/printer connectors, because if you are unlucky you will fry the machin when plugging/unplugging the power connector... very classical mistake, plug the +9v on the 6502 bus is not a great idea :-/ O...

Commodore IEC interface for the Oric

Has anyone thought of making an Commodore IEC (serial) interface to connect a Commodore disk drive to the Oric? I don't know much about electronics, so I may be completely wrong here, but it seems to me that it wouldn't be very hard to make a small board with a modified ROM and a DIN socket and conn...

New member saying hi!

Hello there! Just wanted to make myself known. I never had an Oric back when, but I got one a few days ago from a guy at the place I work. It's an Oric-1 with a rev 3 motherboard which he had bought new in 1983. What I was really after was his old Commodore SX-64, but when he said I could have his O...
