Re: Clock Signal — an Oric emulator for macOS and Linux

It would be handy if the CSAVE produced a tap file. I have programs on disk. I've scanned the disk but they don't work on Oricutron - but they do work with Clock Signal. I want to get the programs back to Tap files which is easy on (now) Oricutron (with update from ISS).

Re: Oric HFE file

Many thanks.

Any idea why they are OK with Clock Signal but not Gotek Hfe or when converted to Oric .Dsk with HxC software?

I took a good Disk image and converted it to Hfe and then back to Dsk and it worked OK so the HxxC software seems OK.

Re: Oric HFE file

Any help with Clock Signal?
I've got it installed but it's asking me from 'the Oric Colour ROM'. I got it to recognise the Atmos Rom and Microdisc Rom, but nothing is working for this Oric Colour Rom.l I thought it might be the Oric-1 Rom but nothing seems to work.

Re: Oric HFE file

Looking at the HxC disk viewer thing this one looks good, but converting it to Oric.Dsk still isn't working.

Re: Oric HFE file

Thanks for looking at those. I used the HxC to convert to Oric .Dsk but they wouldn't work. :( I had a look at CLKsignal but don't even understand how to get it run. Is HxC software no good for converting Hfe files to Oric dsk? Am I better to record in Raw scp ? (The Bounty disk contains a co...

Re: Oric HFE file

Do these have the same problem? I think recorded with different settings.

Re: Oric HFE file

Amazing. I'm trying to use different settings to read the disks but I keep encountering fatal errors. I'm not sure whether it's a drive read failure or something else. I'm not sure whether 'cyinders' should be the same number as tracks. There's a 'Revs per track' setting with some software. I haven'...

Re: Oric HFE file

I managed to convert to Oric Dsk image using Hxc software. The resulting disk image doesn't work.

Maybe I need to specify some settings? https://github.com/keirf/Greaseweazle/w ... ng-Started

I'm not sure what to try next

Re: Oricutron HFE

Thanks . I'll look it up again. I just thought that as Oricutron was the main emulator these days it'd maybe be a good idea to have it able to use Hfe files - what with all the Gotek and Cumana Reborn users. The software on those doesn't offer an easy way to convert to Dsk image - but maybe Oricutro...

Re: Oric HFE file

Thanks ISS. It's been a bit of a struggle to get it working which seems to be in part down to me using Win7. I think these things appear to have a Linux user base and maybe I should try it on my laptop - but I'm very much a novice at Linux so would still find it difficult. I tried using the GUI soft...

Oricutron HFE

Could Oricutron be used to load HFE files? Could it then be used to produce a disk image from the HFE file?

Oric HFE file

I'm trying to read floppies on my Windows PC using a Greasweazle F7v2

I've got a HFE file .I was going to upload it but it isn't a recognised filetype.
Is this what can be used in Gotek and Cumana Reborn?

Is there anything yet to covert files to Dsk images?

Re: Volume control options on an Oric 1

There are various options. You can change a resistor which affects the volume. (find some info in Mike Brown's repair guide.) I would have thought a pot (variable resistor ) might be useful? You can fit a jack socket for external sound and sever the speaker connection so then you have a controllable...

Re: ULA versions

I remember reading somewhere that Oric-1 ULA was different to the Atmos ULA, but I've not found any noticeable difference. I've swapped them over and they work OK. The only time I've noticed any difference is with the Cumulus. But the results seem a bit random

Re: Down arrow key not working on my Atmos

You have to be careful soldering the keyboard contacts as they can move and become misaligned. I use a continuity tester on a multimeter. (It beeps when you have a circuit.) You can test the contacts beep when the key is pressed. Then trace back the circuit and check the line is intact. Sometimes th...
