Re: Oric Atmos problems

Don't you think this looks more and more like a RAM issue? If random fails occur with time, it might not be correctly refreshed. The ULA is is charge of that. If the RAM is not fast enough (the Oric needs faster ram than other 8bit systems) this could create problems too. Recapping is a good idea, b...

Re: Changing TEXT / HIRES display size?

Not sure if it will help, but I did something similar in Oricium: scorepanel in HIRES, then TEXT for the play area (alternating character sets), then HIRES again to get the two last lines as TEXT with another character set for the radar. You can check the sources here https://osdn.net/projects/orics...

Re: ORIC-1 vectorial cover box in PDF and new Oric web site

I like this project a lot! Being able to have a recreation (even if not exact) of the original box, would be really nice.

Many people are doing this for other computers, and it is an excellent way to keep them stored :)

Re: Cumana Reborn issues

I don't think my code and weird alignment macros (lol) affect in anything, really. I think I ran your demos using my clone microdisk with real floppies and cumulus. I, however, seem to recall that some people had trouble with the Cumana Reborn and sent it for repair. Something related to not being a...

Re: XA or CA65 ?

I have used the old frasm assembler included in the lcc65 package and switched to XA with the appearance of OSDK. I am quite fine with how XA does things by using preprocessor directives. Yeah, there are some quirks and bugs, but you can have headers which are shared between C and asm and everything...

Re: How to create new system disks and retrieve my software

amongst which modifications that improved the stability of the expansion port and a mod that ensured you can use tape and disk at the same time. All of this was published in a magazine we brought out monthly. Everything is great, and I'd love to see that Pascal compiler, but I am really interested ...

Re: How to create new system disks and retrieve my software

Hi! It is great to see people getting back their old systems, mostly when they are so complete as yours! Would definitely want to see some pics. Regarding your question, I'll take that you don't have a gotek or similar, because it would make anything much easier. It is really difficult to produce a ...

Re: Atmos and Cumana won't boot until warm

No idea, but I'm interested in the topic because my Cumana Reborn is basically unusable on any of my machines, it works with some files and miserably fails booting at all with some others, which makes no sense since as far as the Oric is concerned there's nothing special about the HFE files on the ...

Re: Using overlay memory: how, tips and possibility for direct save/load

It was, I think, mostly for the serial attributes approach. Some bits in each byte are needed to indicate if it is graphical data or a serial attribute. This saves memory, but is very limiting and a nightmare to deal with. On the other hand, the designers forgot to add a 320x200 monochrome mode. One...

Re: And the CEO ?

Almost impossible for me. My connections with Paris are horrible, unless I took a flight, but that's too expensive. More than 400€

Have a look:

Re: Cumana Reborn wanted

The Cumana Reborn has the disk controller integrated, which is Oric-only (and plugs on its expansion board). Maybe you can get the Gotek-like part out of it, but not sure if that is easy or even possible.

Re: Archiving 3-inch disks with Greaseweazle

Guys, we need a section where we could store all these dsk images with (patched) games so we can play from disks. Also those patched to work with Erebus. I have the (horribly) translated to Spanish version of Le Rendez-vous de la Terreur. It was buggy, and not the best thing, but it was my first adv...
