Parallel port MIDI interface

I never managed to get the old Serial/MIDI interface on expansion bus to work on the Oric properly, but I discovered recently that there had been some Parallel Port interfaces made for PCs (mostly from MIDIMAN (now M-AUDIO) and MOTU (Mark Of The Unicorn), and I happen to have found one in Oslo today...

Re: ULA Paint

http://miniserve.defence-force.org/svn/users/dbug/UlaPaint/ This directory seems no longer to exist. Everything that was on the old SVN is still on the existing SVN, everything that was in users is still in users. I updated the first post to link to the proper location, no need to create new folder...

Re: ULA Paint

Guess that could be simply to integrate in the tool, at least that would allow to load and save pictures ON DISK instead of the stupid .TAP crapyness I was doing :)

Re: ULA Paint

Ultimately I did not finish it because I did not know how to do basic things in SEDORIC from a C or assembler program, like: - Get the list of files on disk - Load a file to an address in memory - Save a file to an address in memory - Delete a file - Rename a file I had thought about doing complicat...

But what is meant on page 3 is still a mystery to me.
Page 3 is the 256 bytes area from $300 to $3FF where all the I/O registers (VIA, Floppy Disk Controller, ...) are mapped.

Painting programs video

I published yesterday a new video, about painting programs, it's not Oric specific, but it starts by Oric stuff (Lorigraph, Master Paint, Graphiscop) and there's a capture of Master Paint "demonstration mode" at the end of the video. https://youtu.be/1CqElJxRao0 And I realized after I was done, that...

Re: Quimoric existed and still exists.

Looks like "Quim" should totally be the kind of thing you expect to run on "Oriculator"

Re: IJK interface diagrams.

This kind of reminds me of the Atari ST dedicated joystick interface for Gauntlet to allow for four players are the same time: Two on the original ports of the machine, and two on the parallel port interface :)

Posting rules updates

Hello everybody. In order to keep this forum a useful resource for anyone, now and in the future, I would like the following things to be addressed: - Follow-up messages on issues or related issues should be posted on the same thread. If you are trying to convert a WAV to a TAP, don't post a message...

Re: Master Paint and Joystick

@iss: Sure, you made it work (which is cool), but my question was mostly: Why did the original manual claim there was joystick support but it did not actually work when I tried with any of the support interfaces I tried in Oricutron?

Re: Any spare mags?

Yeah, Micr'Oric is kind of harder to find, mostly because it was kind of crap compared to Theoric, and it really felt like "reading the magazine of the party" where Oric could not do any mistake and anything released was wonderful :D

Great, so now all you need to do is to buy it and put it on oric.org \o/

Master Paint and Joystick

The manual of Master Paint indicates that the software is usable with a Joystick, but does not indicate which type. The software is absolutely unusable on emulator using the keyboard because of the choice of keys to move the cursor, so I wanted to try the joystick, but I was not able to. I've not tr...
