Re: Parallel port MIDI interface

It could be interesting to see the PCB, a lot of control inputs are maybe not used, in the notice, the data printer port is set as output only, maybe the transfert is in parallel (data bus) or serial mode (STROBE?) as output and serial mode with ACK as input.

Re: ROM RAM Extentions

Hallo und willkommen Doc.

I think that you can use a D toggle writable at page3 of the memory, the contain of this little register will select the external memory to enable at #C000 to #FFFF memory location. The MAP signal is not necessary to do that.

Re: IJK interface diagrams.

The IJK interface use the same way to work, bit7 bit6 to select jost1 or jost2, except these: -If STROBE is ON, the interface is not readable on the printer port. -If STROBE is OFF, we can read the state of one of the joystick for a SHORT time, the code must read the values just after setting STROBE...

Re: IJK interface diagrams.

I'll try to use the same system with more transistors to use the unused mapping combinations of the joysticks, in the end, 4 Atari-type joystick could be connected, or two "combo" joystick type. (8 directions, 6 buttons, and START-SELECT each)

Re: IJK interface diagrams.

What about soldering TWO cables, one for the IJK joystick, one for the PASE joystick, depending of the game you use one or the other, and you don't have to plug/unplug the connector (which could cause long term problems with the solders on the motherboard I guess) I tried this: Pase/Ijk left-right ...

Re: IJK interface diagrams.

Interesting! The jordanian joystick has real switches (0 ohm), while those we currently see are with carbon switches (200 ohm approx), I tried to modify a clone of CNES controller (Aliexpress store), the conductive rubber switches are covered with aluminum foil, and it only works with the old IJK in...

Re: Stormlord feedback and review thread

I played the game with a clone of ijk interface,, the joystick is not detected and the sound is disformed, I think that the STROBE signal is always low, then the capacitor of the interface is never reloaded to read the state of the joystick. With the Stingy interface it works well (there is no capac...

Re: IJK interface diagrams.

Hello, I tried to wire a SNES joystick bought at AliExpress with two DB9 cords, the result is as following: The left directions keys send signals to the left ijk joystick socket. The right knobs A B X Y send signals to the right ijk joystick socket at the "same place" of the direction keys. The righ...

Re: Adventure Games and Solutions, Help needed !

I just uploaded ‘Enchanted’ to Oric.org And for the users of the Erebus, here is a .tap version I've created from the disc version... (Maybe in the stuff section, Didier?) This .tap is a bit "improved" by a GPS option :-) I 've also a map ( practical with the GPS) and a solution of this game... For...

Re: IJK interface diagrams.

AN other way to connect the joysticks:
4 outputs, PASE x2 and IJK x2.
No upside down connecting.
IDC connector soldered on the edge of the PCB.

Re: IJK interface diagrams.

I will experiment with an interface with a slightly larger shell, there will be a pcb with 4 more transistors, there will be 2 IJK outputs and 1 DB9 PASE output. there will be no need to plug it upside down.
