Re: EREBUS II firmware
I didn't know about exFAT though. I might've got this a bit mixed up, don't take my word for it that exFAT "works" - I had quite a jumble of SD cards in use when I had the Atmos on exhibit in the museum .. and multi-platform SD cards in the mix as well .. but either way yes, you don't nee...

Re: LOCI ULA snooping - best pattern
So four ink changes in inverted versions, based on thinking this is non-sense for any actual applications. Well, not so fast .. In my soundToy app, I have a situation where I'm generating a large block of HIRES-visible 'semi-random' values, which include the bytes you're suggesting. You can see the...

This is probably the greatest thread on DF ever, but I concur .. LOCI is out there now .. its time to level up the threads.Sodiumlightbaby wrote: ↑Thu Nov 28, 2024 11:32 pm Probably a very good idea. This one is a bit of a novel as well

Re: How to get the most from an Oric in 2024?
Yes get yourself a LOCI and your Oric will have a bright future indeed!

It is by far the best peripheral for the 21st Century Oric - providing storage and ROM upgrade capabilities as well as peripheral support - no modifications required.

Re: Loci - my Oric storage emulation project
For one, I would be anxious to use this for a Loci version of my Oric Screen Editor. And I, for one would love to be an Oric Screen Editor user with a very big filesystem mounted on my real Atmos. So I can't wait to see how you set up LOCI! Apropos API's, is anyone else thinking about adding LOCI s...

Re: EREBUS II firmware
In general, using mega-large SD cards for the Oric means the card must be formatted to be compatible with filesystem module of the Erebus firmware... Format the new SD card, but also change its Partition table, to the exact form of the working SD card. You can find tools to inspect these details for...

Re: Upgrade Time: Encounter
I think the BASIC ROM qualifies as abandonware in most places these days.
Would be cool if Encounter became the 'on ramp' for folks to get into the Oric, so I hope you add some means of booting to BASIC and letting folks type in some 10-liners, or so ..

Re: Upgrade Time: Encounter
Nice! Are you going to include a way to launch just the emulator itself, so that folks can also get a bonus out of exploring the Oric with ease, i.e. "includes free Oric"?

Re: Oricutron minimal specs
Okay, seems that @snowflake has kindly set up the Github Action workflows for us already, 3 years ago, which is super nice, but it doesn't have a 'save artifacts' step in the workflow - I assume because these actions are just to verify the build and not produce a real executable (I'm guessing those ...

Re: Oricutron minimal specs
What is the problem with using a pre-built binary from the official people who make the official version? Calm down, I was just under the impression you needed to distribute your own version because you had customizations you wanted to do for the Steam store. There is nothing wrong with distributin...

Re: Mi Jueguo: Tiny Game in Spanish
Think I found a bug .. over by the tree, near the blue door outside, if you slide into the tree with the J key, rendering goes wonky .. tried to take a screenshot, hope you can work it out .. first screenshot is to show you the location, then the second screenshot shows the corruption when you 'J' t...

Re: Mi Jueguo: Tiny Game in Spanish
Nice! Can we have the text strings so we could maybe auto-translate them to other languages, somehow? Is the source available?
