Re: My old PRAVETZ 8D (ORIC ATMOS)

Re: dflat language update

I think we need to work out how to get you a disk drive (Cumana Reborn) for your Oric-1 so that you will make DOS integration with dflat a priority feature. ;) Like you, I also grew up with the Oric-1 and a massive collection of tapes - long since lost to the little sisters Jon Bon Jovi obsession, a...

Re: dflat language update

Ah, thanks for clearing that up - I've spent the subsequent time reading the docs .. so I guess I'd love to see SEDORIC support, so "DFLAT.COM" can be called to run/edit programs, but also has access to FSAVE/FLOAD, from SEDORIC, as well .. not sure how the SEDORIC ROM overlay would work with DFLAT ...

Re: dflat language update

Having spent the last week learning Amstrad's MAXAM assembler, I for one welcome a new era of inline assembly into the Oric world! Well done! :)

Re: Thomas Schiex

Since it was written in assembly, I'm guessing this would be an interesting project to start disassembling ..

Re: Hello from Spain

Nice to learn of Orics' success in Spain! For my part, I also got the Oric-1 in 1983 through a friend of the family, who was the distributor in Australia at the time. Everyone else had C64's - I wanted the Oric mostly because I'd heard a rumour there'd be a modem for it, and disc drives too .. and I...

Re: CEO Meet Christmas 2020

Yeah, the demo's were pretty great. Honestly very inspiring! Interesting to hear the online meets allowed for more people to attend .. I guess I should get that CEO subscription I've often pondered about .. Also Sy, it was funny to hear you tuning in. Do you have an airplane headset with a keyed mic...

Re: CEO Meet Christmas 2020

Even though I don't speak a word of French, it was really nice to tune in and listen to the conversations and see a very technically competent community of Oric enthusiasts discussing things.. it really opened my eyes to the fact that there is a strong French Oric scene, which has survived decades a...

Re: Defender..auto regenerated?

Ah, I remember encountering this STOP program a few times back in the day .. combined with "!NEW", it was the best way to find out how to write Oric software - by inspecting the work of the commercial vendors. ;) I had so much fun using these commands to break in and read listings .. I'm really glad...
