Re: Rat Splat 🐀

Apologies to Raymond Krug, but Chuckford not quite as good as Chuckie Egg, although a decent stab at it. Chuckle Egg was excellent on the Dragon and CoCo, even in red, yellow and green - surely inspiration for someone to do a good port. Has anyone also seen The King, a very good conversion of Donkey...

Tap2dsk - advice please

Folks I've never used this before, so with the new Cumana Reborn, I took a Tap image of Hunchback, converted it to Dsk, and then to Hfe. HXC recognised it as a valid Dsk file with 21 tracks. When trying it on the CR, it got to the Ready prompt but nothing further Have I misunderstood something / don...

Re: Cumana Reborn wanted

Folks The Cumana Reborn arrived over the weekend. Tonight I've had a play. All I can say is - wow, just wow. Thank you Zaxon. Next question, can I convert tap files to disks like the Rhetoric disks? Very impressed with this. Here is a photo of the Oric family. 16564469289537763612682976262846.jpg Ch...

Re: Cumana Reborn wanted

Folks - thanks for the guidance and feedback.

Out of interest, does it work on any other computers. As well as the Orics, I have an Enterprise and a Tatung Einstein requiring some love.

Cheers

Re: Cumana Reborn wanted

Folks Once the Reborn arrives from Zaxon, can someone help me with a question? I've very little experience with Oric disks and disk images. What is the best tool or method to convert the DSK images to HFE? Or, does the device offer native DSK support? If there is a well trodden forum elsewhere,pleas...

Re: Cumana Reborn wanted

Guys, thanks for the heads up. There will be another addition to the family tomorrow - a Tatung Einstein. I understand there are similarities with both Amstrad and Oric (the same disks as the Microdisc). I must stop this madness. Otherwise I'll wind up in either the divorce or bankruptcy court (or b...

Re: Cumana Reborn wanted

Folks Very pleased to say Zaxon can now send these to the UK, and I was able to order one the other day. I am very much looking forward to receiving it. Slightly off topic, I happen to have an Elan Enterprise in my collection. I've not even had it out of the box. It's a 128k version. I believe there...

Re: Cumana Reborn wanted

As I've not been on for a while, the available ones have been sold. So I'll have to wait until the next lot are ready then I can get one.

Does anybody here know anything about the Pravetz 8D thinking of getting one. Is it 100% Oric compatible?

Re: Cumana Reborn wanted

Ibisum - thanks for offering to help. I'll have a think about what will work best. Rest assured I don't do dodgy things :D

Dbug - I could always see if I can order 2. Before doing that, are there any other UK Oric people interested in one?

Thanks
Steve

Re: Cumana Reborn wanted

Dbug - thanks. Sell My Retro quote £121 including shipping against the original sale price of £81 if I recall correctly. That includes import duty and VAT, but then they say they cannot fulfil the sale as the minimum order value is £135. Odd, and I've met the SMR guy in person (Rich) as he lives onl...

Re: Cumana Reborn wanted

Hello all I was wondering if any Oric friends could do me a favour. As I live in the UK I cannot order one of these from Sell My Retro. I would like to ask if I ordered one and obviously paid for it, would someone not resident in the UK be happy to take delivery of it, and then send it on to me if I...

Re: Next Cumulus batch

Oric friends - can someone do me a favour?

Obviously happy to pay for the item, is there anyone who I could ship the item to, and then on to me?

Really want one of these items.

Thanks
Steve

There are still 5 Cumana Reborn for sale.
Sadly, it won't let me order as no shipping to the UK.

Re: Next Cumulus batch

Can someone give me the FB details for Zaxon.

I'm interested in a Cumana Reborn only if it is better than the Cumulus.

Cheers
