Re: Down arrow key not working on my Atmos

Crisis averted! Turns out it was a bad solder joint in the down arrow key. A dab of fresh solder and it's working again! Xahmol, if you haven't done so already, check and possibly freshen up the solder joints of the button that's giving you grief. Thanks. Will check. And just to confirm, is that th...

Apparently, you can print the stem.
Well, according to the video above that onky works with a very high quality printer and lots of patience as measurements need to be very precise or the key gets stuck.

Re: Down arrow key not working on my Atmos

On the video of this guy, you can see how the whole thing is assembled, with the "sliding boxes" in the squares Thanks and interesting. Learned that my Oric and my TI-99/4a actually use the same keyboard mechanism with interchangeable plungers. Only the problem he is repairing here alas is differen...

Re: Down arrow key not working on my Atmos

What is next after trying to clean it? On my latest Atmos (my second one) originally the 1, arrow down and space keys did not work. Cleaning contacts did indeed a lot, as all keys are working again and the arrow down and space even work well. However, the 1 key has to be pressed really well for it t...

Re: Atmos and Cumana Reborn - No go...

As you may know, Piotr is famous for not answering. I actually have different experience, but agree that differs from time to time. But I can also imagine that if it is really the case that the CR works on one Atmos and not on the other, there is probably also not that much that Piotr can do about ...

Re: Atmos and Cumana Reborn - No go...

Ok, you are referring to the Cumana Reborn. Did you talk to Piotr already? I see more people have issues with the Cumana Reborn lately while others like me have it working without any issue on different Atmosses. Might even think there is a difference between the Cumana Reborn batches somehow. Your ...

Re: Atmos and Cumana Reborn - No go...

Could it be the same issue as with the Twilighte Board, as this Oric has 2 different brands CPU and VIA ? No clue on the Cumana. But on the Twilighte board: latest insight is that 2 different brands of CPU and VIA does not explain issues with that board working on one Atmos and not on the other (co...

Re: Oric extender - a basis for DIY projects and experiments

rock stable, always working and compatible with any particular Oric Sounds great! Could that for example help the Twilighte board to a more stable version? I am experimenting with it now with great help from Jede, and get more and more enthousiastic about that board, especially if I can get the Pi ...

Re: CC65/C: Ensure joystick press is registered only once

With Mingw or Cygwin, you can get the command make. Actually, I might be going this route if I have time to delve into it: https://devblogs.microsoft.com/cppblog/now-announcing-makefile-support-in-visual-studio-code/ But my trouble with going to Windows for my C128 project was not only Make. It was...

Re: CC65/C: Ensure joystick press is registered only once

So I congratulate you for this work and I thank you for sharing your source code because it can help other people to progress. Thanks! Please note that over here I presently have a hybrid setup of CC65 working under Windows Subsystem for Linux with OSDK working under Windows. So that is why I have ...

Re: CC65/C: Ensure joystick press is registered only once

Update: actually adding a wait of 10 cycles did do the trick.... do { ijk_read(); } while (ijk_ljoy || ijk_rjoy); wait(10); Where wait() is: void wait(unsigned int wait_cycles) { /* Function to wait for the specified number of cycles Input: wait_cycles = numnber of cycles to wait */ unsigned int sta...

Re: CC65/C: Ensure joystick press is registered only once

Well, I think I understand you, but why does then the while loop to wait until the joystick reads neutral again not do the trick? That waits for the joystick reading to come from anything before to zero again.
(and why does it work in Oricutron and not on real hardware)?

Re: Wolfenstein / DOOM for Oric : has this been done?

But I supect the guy from the TI-99 demo to use a GPU F18A for the rendering to be so fast. Well, that is even in the title of the video that he is using that..... Then again, this demo on the TI-99/4a works on my stock TI-99/4a with only a 32k expansion, no GPU: https://youtu.be/ZhSUhE03XFw?t=215 ...

Re: CC65/C: Ensure joystick press is registered only once

By the way: in the last version of my BASIC implementation of this game I also used the same Raxiss IJK routine with basically the same key and joystick polling routine logic in BASIC. Did not have any issue on real hardware then, probably because BASIC is so slow that the routine is not polled agai...
