Re: Oric's 8912 volume scale

First, the formula you gave was : (V1 + V2 + V3) / 3. But the actual measured levels on an Oric (as given earlier in this thread : 0.917, 1.30, 1.58) rather suggest it is : SQR (V1² + V2² + V3²). I agree with you, measurements provided by Iss shows that the voltage is not an affine function of the ...

Re: Oric V23 Modem

Anyway, to be back to the minitel, your original message, funny or not, was totally out of place because the whole point of what we are doing on Defence Force, is to have fun with old technology, and my own work, with Oriclopedia, etc... is to document and show how these things worked, and the mini...

Re: Oric V23 Modem

Other than the fact you consider that the high point of French network technology from the 80ies is worth putting in the trashcan.which I consider totally not funny despite the effort spent doing the drawing, Il y avait une pointe d'humour provocateur dans ce dessin et je vois qu'elle a fait mouche...

Re: Unphasing harmonics to rebalance sound samples

What I find funny, is that you started with a square wave, which is exactly what the YM/AY is doing by default: The best way to regenerate a square wave is to actually not play it as a sample at all :D Yes .. I must admit it is funny to take the square wave by the north face. I realized that. But I...

Re: Web browsing on the Oric?

I remember that in the 90's, I started browsing the web with my amiga 1200.

The only web browser that I managed to get working was Lynx.

It is a very light weighted web browser but it is still very heavy for an Atmos.

Re: Space Cowboy - Demo [raxiss]

I wanted to make a horizontal shooter, but moving the screen in text mode creates an unpleasant feeling. I don't particularly like it. I don't know if I will finish the game. For now, this project is frozen. I would like to hear your opinions and suggestions :) I played four times this demo level a...

Re: Unphasing harmonics to rebalance sound samples distribution

Then I just changed the phase of the first and the third harmonic. The harmonics become: NotInPhaseHarmonics.png The only difference with the previous set of harmonics is that the first and the third one are "inverted" (i.e shifted by PI). And when I sum these sines waves, I get the following wavefo...

Re: Unphasing harmonics to rebalance sound samples distribution

Then I used Fourier to approach this signal with the following series of harmonic sine . InPhaseHarmonics.png When I sum the series of sine, I get : RebuildSquare.png which is a (not so bad) approximation of my initial signal. It would require an infinite series of harmonic to get a perfect square. ...

Unphasing harmonics to rebalance sound samples distribution

Hi all, I want to share with you all an idea that I got about sound sample replaying on an AY chip. I really don't know what it worth but I feel appealed by this idea. If you're not familiar with AY sound chip, you can leave now because the rest of the post is going to be somewhat hardcore. If you k...

That's so much valuable !!

Additionally kind of info about math interpolation (in Czech language) can be found here and here.

Re: Los Caminos de Galdeon

Looking forward to the next iteration of things Thank you ibisum. I'm glad that you like this lil game. I do think that there will be some new iteration but for now I'm going make a break on the 3D stuff. I want to explore the topic of sound on Oric. I think this is a good opportunity for a new kin...

Re: Los Caminos de Galdeon

Congrats, @ jbperin ! Thanks for this new Oric game and your great work on Oric's 3D scene ;). The game is playable and I like very much how the color textures are rendered. Thank you iss It was a real pleasure for me to work on 3D over the past year. I learnt a lot by getting advices from Dbug for...

Re: SampleTweaker

Isn't this tool the only way to prepare samples to be used with the digiplayer.s ? I think I can do something similar in Python .. and add a few options such as support of ogg, wav, mp3 .. And as it is possible to make exe from Python script, perhaps I can prepare an alternative to SampleTweaker . B...

Re: OSDK 1.18

Is it possible, in future OSDK 1.19, to have a way to give parameter to preprocessor cpp.exe ?

It's just adding a %OSDK_Xxxx% to the cpp.exe command line in build.bat
