Yeah - metadata gets a huge promotion in my eyes. His effort to get the Cumulus out here to us all - and of course Retromaster too, who must be *never* forgotten in this Cumulus adventure because it was his hard work that got us most of the way - has made the world of Oric users a lot, lot brighter.

Two Cumulus recieved, it feels like Christmas :D
Very carefully packaged and protected, great work Metadata.
For the French, if you are using the shipment tracking: don't worry, as soon as it arrives in France, you won't have any update anymore (who said "typical" ? ;) )

Before doing anything wrong, I'm searching how to plug - and what the switch (I mean: the jumper) is for on the bus card. Can't recall where the info can be, but don't want to do anything wrong ;)
EDIT: ok, seen the plugging picture at the 1st page of this thread, and will try this way.
What is that jumper for, I'll check later !

Before doing anything wrong, I'm searching how to plug
The only thing that you can plug wrong is the Cumulubus. The chips on this little board are on the upper side.
The IDE-Cable goes with the blue plug to the Cumulus and with the black one in the CumuluBus. It only fits in the right position.
and what the switch (I mean: the jumper) is for on the bus card
If you short both of the Jumpers (Cumulus and CumuluBus) then you can connect the IDE-Cable so: Black side into CumuluBus and grey side into Cumulus.
For the French, if you are using the shipment tracking: don't worry, as soon as it arrives in France
Nomaly on the tracking website from DHL you find a new number from your local post if the package arrives in your country. And the you can track it on your local post webside with this new number.

Thanks for the info Metadata.
Is there a place (a page) where we could group the whole information you've been giving? A bit like the 1st post of this thread but with additional things: the videos you've made (how to flash the firmware), the latest firmware binary download, and so on?
All are very useful.

Maybe we can use the Wiki for this.
http://wiki.defence-force.org/doku.php?id=oric:main

I wrote a little pdf for how to connect the CumuluBus to the Oric

metadata, do you have an idea on when you will finish to build the remaining cumulus in the order queue?

I was wondering if I can get mine before April, I will go to a convention ( AC 2014: http://www.yaronet.com/posts.php?sl=9&s=161906 ) which is mid April and want to be sure to have the time to test it before going there :) I want to display here some of the Twilighte works.

I'm calmly waiting mine :) Please don't rush and take it easy as long as the final product will be as perfect and precise as possible.

To be honest, I am a bit concerned after reading all the complaints and problems that people expressed in cumulus thread. I hope I won't experience such problems when I got mine.

I wouldn't worry too much. Just be sure to check the cables, make sure everything is connected OK (take your time) and insert the SDHC cards LABEL SIDE DOWN....and check the power supply 9V, 1.xAmps.

The oric is quirky and so are its devices...(and it's users)
