Post by Symoon »

I'm currently trying to set the list of Twilighte's releases and contributions to others' releases, for the special issue of the CEO-Magazine. Here's a first (unfinished) list.

By digging into Twilighte's archives, looking for a TAP version of Zebulon (to no avail), I found an early in-the-works version of Attack Of The Mutant Camels. Only scrolling and background.
I had to change one or two things to set up a disk version.

Is there any thread dedicated to unreleased Twilighte productions? I think there are so many things that we may have "new" finds from time to time, maybe it would be cool to post them in a specific place?

I think he did a lot of things that didn't get finished. Once you get half way through the program becomes more difficult to work and the weight of code can slow things down. I talked to Jonathan about this problem with my own (Basic) program and he said he experienced that sort of thing.
He'd write up to a point that it became problematic. Sometimes he'd get sidetracked and write editors to try and help with writing a program and then end up writing more editors.
There was a little demo we wrote after I was talking to him about Atari Lynx games. I had Chips Challenge and Crystal Mines II which had similar puzzle elements that I thought could be done on the Oric. One of those games had slime or fungus that would grow. There were a couple of types - one would die off if you shot it and the other would grow. In a short time Jon had written a little Oric program with his version of the slime. I don't know if that ever survived. I don't think I have a copy still. :(

He did other little graphics programs - just snippets to test an idea. The loader for Rhetoric started off as just the wave moving down the screen which he called Wibble. (I wondered if he was trying to produce a sound wave for one of his sound editors.)
I don't know if he kept all his little bits and pieces. I think for a while he stopped doing Oric programming and then got back into it again.
