Oric Atmos Manual Wanted

Here is the place to discuss about the magazines (CEO Mag, OUM, Rhetoric, Theoric, Hebdogiciel, ... are all welcome here) and books.

Oric Atmos Manual Wanted

Post by Vyper68 » Mon Jul 23, 2018 8:20 pm

Hi Guys

Been a while since I was on here due to health problems and family bereavement. So apologies if this is in the wrong place. Does anyone have a spare English Atmos user manual they would be willing to part with.
If anyone does could you drop me a PM.

Thanks.
Vyper

You can download the Oric 1 and Atmos manuals on the Oric Library: http://www.defence-force.org/computing/ ... /index.htm

Thanks DBug, I was hoping to get a real paperback one rather than digital. I have it on my Kindle Paperwhite but it's not the same. :D

That would indeed be a "printed" copy of the manual. I was hoping somone would have a real circa 1980's manual spare, i will just keep using the PDF version for now until one turns up on eBay. :)

Technically, you could probably also try to get the "The COMPANION to the ORIC 1" book by Ian Adamson.
It's the book that ultimately became the user manual for the Oric Atmos.

There is one on ebay right now: https://www.ebay.com/itm/The-Companion- ... 3050030496

Obviously there are differences, like for example the addresses in memory are referring to the 1.0 ROM instead of 1.1, but all in all most of the content is the same.
