What is this? A multi-plexer for Telestrat/Oric network?

This is the right place to discuss on how to implement hardware vsync, adding a VIA or AY chipset, puting multiple roms, or how to design a new flash expansion card.

What is this? A multi-plexer for Telestrat/Oric network?

Post by ibisum »

Anyone know what this is?

http://www.ti99.com/misc/oric/DSC02172.JPG

Is it a multiplexor that allows a Telestrat to serve as a teletex server to multiple Orics or something?

I got the details about this from this thread on the comp.sys.oric newgroup:

Hello,

some part of this bundle can interess me, but I can't afford to buy
the whole bundle. Especially the telestrat and related stuffs (like
ROMs/cartridge and some chips, the working 3" drive)

What are the prototypes boards?

I've got the same question, and I may plan to buy thoses proto boards and non released device for the oric history, they can be interesting to reverse engeneering, and love to do it ;)

600€ is too much for me for the whole package, but I wonder if someone can be interested by some parts of it ?

(BTW, Manoel.. it's me ;))

I believe the box with many sockets is a way to be able to connect multiple modems to the same Telestrat so you can use it as a real server to server multiple Minitel connections.

So it's probably some kind of RS232 interface multiplexer :)

I'm actually interested in some of the things:
* L'Oric à nu
* Light pen interface
* Telestrat mouse

I'm pretty sure that some CEO people would be interested by the components like the spare ULA.

DBug: I don't know if the teletrat mouse is a well known device, but if you get it, it will be a good thing to reverse eneering it, I think it will be great, but maybe the CEO Mag have already this somewhere ;)

I believe some of the Telestrat software used it, like one of the minitel servers/emulators.

I'm interested, if have a reasonable price, in:

- Interface (mice? Joystick?) 34points/DB9 complete. Operation: not tested.
- 3 PCBs in the same interface incomplete / not finalized.
- 2 or 3 x ULA HCS 10017.
- Floppy drive 3" Does not work or very randomly.
- Oric Atmos-based DRAM 4464. Components all mounted on supports, was for
the development team ORIC (no serial)

Best regards.

It's ok for me and I'm ok to do the "proxy" (ie take the whole package, then redispatch)

What we need to decide, is how I'll send/give it to you, and how you pay me for these parts ;)

A question, the floppy drive 3" is a complete Oric Microdisc or is a floppy drive only?

Do you have a paypal account?
