New disk controller

This is the right place to discuss on how to implement hardware vsync, adding a VIA or AY chipset, puting multiple roms, or how to design a new flash expansion card.

New disk controller

Post by jorodr »

Hello,
I have started to draw the schematics of the Cumana board in the KiKad, so I will have the opportunity to make new boards and to simplify them with CPLD. I'm using an empty Cumana board to download a real schematics (The schematics at http://oric.signal11.org.uk/files/pub/c ... atic-1.jpg is not full) So the reason of writing here is that I'm looking for a guy that will compare my schematics with the schematics at:
http://oric.signal11.org.uk/files/pub/c ... atic-1.jpg
and will hunt for a mistakes. So It can be an open project and everyone can hunt a mistakes. Everyone who want to help can send me his personal mail and I will send him a temporary schematics. After finishing the drawing I will make the plate and test carefully it. The guy who help me will have a board to check too and will have the final board ofcource. I will be glad for any help.

Hi,

The work implied mean only comparing two schematics that should look the same ?
If so I think I can help, but I don't know anything about electronic.

This is excellent news!

I doubt I can be of any help, both due to lack of knowledge and lack of time, but if I can do anything, just tell me!

Not so easy. Because the old schematics is drawn "by hand", and my will be drawn at PCB system. So they can't look identical. The buffers at the original schematis are presented like separated units, but at PCB they are presented like whole chips. But not only so. Some of the components (FDC9216, MB8877A) are missing at the PCB library, so I must draw them by hand. So there may be mistakes too. I must modify some of the components to make the schematics near to original view. You can see the very early stage of the schematics with only buffers connected to Oric port at:
http://www.sofiaprint.com/Cumana_temp.pdf
The easy way is to print the schematics with A3 printer to compares them.
