Compatible transister ?

If you want to ask questions about how the machine works, peculiar details, the differences between models, here it is !
How to program the oric hardware (VIA, FDC, ...) is also welcome.

Compatible transister ?

Post by Steve M »

Is the BC 547 compatible with the BC184 used on the Oric ?

This chap has them on his Oric but the spec says BC184.

Yes, the BC547 can replace the BC184.

I don't have an oric by hand, which transistor is this one?

I mean where is it located?

Is it TR2? (keyboard related one)

I think there's three. There's a couple around the tape output, one by the keyboard connection.

Three transistors, TR1 in tape input circuitry (collector connected to pin 18 of VIA 6522), TR2 in keyboard interface (collector connected to pin 13 of VIA 6522) and TR3 to activate tape relay. All them working in commutation mode.
