Anyone around using Nibble, the disk editor (under Sedoric) ?
I've tried to edit a track but never managed to save my work.

No problem with sectors, there's a save option (CTRL W), but in track mode (CTRL P), the save option disappears. There's instead a "copy" option (CTRL C) but when selected, the values of the read track seem to change, every sectors contents are set to zero... It is then possible to save, but of course it deletes what's on the disk.

I don't get it , if anyone can help!

PS: I need to work in track mode since the bytes I want to change are in the track format definition bytes, which don't appear in sector mode.

PS2: posting there, did you notice there is no "utilities" topic on Defence Force ?

Ok, replying to myself: the FDC only allows formatting in track mode, hence the zeroes in the sectors content. So 1st set your disk structure and special bytes between tracks, then format, then work in sectors mode. No very handy but should do the work.

I'm just trying to make a (real) disk copy of XL-Dos for an orician whose original disk is faulty. But this DOS is heavily protected, with a modified byte in the bytes describing a sector on the disk!
XL-Dos is an early version of what would later become Sedoric.

The issue is more that there's an arbitrary split between Oric and non Oric software, which works for a number of things but not all.
I could definitely merge "Oric" and "Non Oric" software categories, and rename "Cross Development Tools" as "Development Tools" which would include native Oric assemblers and monitors, in which case I would also rename "Floppy and Tape converters" as "Floppy and Tape tools" where "Nibble" would nicely fit with Tap2Dsk and other similar stuff.

If it was made from an original disk you had, yes, it's very interesting!
If you found it on the Internet, then it's very likely the one and only image we ever had, re-made by Fabrice and André, from a badly cracked version

The original floppy is a 3 inch one? I wonder if the IMD tool I have on PC is able to copy this floppy with it's copy protection.. (the only problem of this tool is I need a PC with a floppy connector and a not so bad FDC..

Yes, that's this one. If you want to be sure it's working, try:
!FORMAT 0 (or !FORMAT 1 according to the floppy drive you'd want to use).
If it keeps asking you the system disk, then it's badly cracked version.

The original disk was probably a 3" one, but no-one I know ever saw one.
Single-sided, 44 tracks, 18 sectors.
