Hi Silicebit,
as promised in my private message here are the pictures. have only mechanics in bad condition.
I don't know what exactly means the French inscription "rayer mort" but it sounds to me terrible!

Hi, iss!

The letter D at the end indicate Double sided, sad that the controller card is missing. Yes, it look no good, and 'rayer mort' sounds very bad. :-)

I found one more Hitachi HFD305D disk drive, it has the PCB, but unfortunately the both big chips are missing.
So, we getting closer ;).

Else, I tested my working Hitachi HFD305D and it is ONLY 40 tracks per side.
Actually 42 tracks are possible, but it depends on the quality of the individual floppy disks.

Hey, this is better! :D But the ICs HA16640NT and CX10040 are missing, them both hard to get. What a pity!

I really appreciate you taking the time, iss. Thanks a lot!

As you said then, 40 tracks per side x 2 sides (2 heads), 80 tracks in total.
