Emails from Dave D...

Post by robcook » Tue May 16, 2017 4:11 pm

I think Dave D's email might have been hacked, or someone is pretending to be him.... until further notice be very careful of any e-mails from 'him' via any hotmail.com address. His usual e-mail is a live.co.uk address. I am trying to reach Dave to confirm.

Yep, some scamming scumbag is pretending to be Dave, on the hunt for wonga. It's a copy/paste scam e-mail that appears all over the net.

I won't post Dave's real e-mail addy here but it's NOT currently a hotmail.com addy, so if you receive anything asking for money, or claiming that a family member is ill then just bin it. Dave is fine - more than fine, the lucky sod as he's off on yet another holiday :)

Yes, thanks for the info. And thanks to this thread I also learned what "Wonga" is.

Ah.... looks like the scammer has got access to two accounts then, or is simply spoofing the sender addy. I haven't received anything from the live addy.
