new xp installation

After installinga XP after re-formatting my computer my emulator refuses to work comming up with the tap program i duble click(NOT A WIN 32 APPLICATION) what im i doing wrong,hope it's something simple as while i love the ORIC i'm not computer literate

That's strange.
I guess you are using Euphoric?

Have you tried Oricutron?

There is a windows patch under XP SP2 concerning the NT Virtual Dos Machine (NTVDM) to not apply at all if you wan't xp to run Euphoric.

Have you associated tap files with your emulator of choice?

Right click on a .tap file and use "Open with..." to select your emulator, making sure to enable "always use this program...".

I suggest you to install windows 7 if you have chance.. I have an old desktop computer with pentium-4, 1 Gb RAM. This configuration runs XP fairly but windows 7 runs quite better than XP.
