For the Spanish readers that may be lurking around :) An electronic magazine called Retro Maniac has published some material about Blake's 7 in its last number (12), from page 418. It contains a kind of "how it was made" article and a complete solution in Spanish.

Just for the records, nothing really new here :)

Yes, they asked me to provide some insights about the development and some screenshots of my tools.

In fact the whole articles are practically what I sent them with little editing, but, well it is a fan magazine...

It came out irregularly and this one states at the beginning that it's going to be the last one :(

So I suppose they put all the content they had together....

Oh, that's too bad, it seemed nicely designed :-/
Publishing everything that was ready is a nice way to go...

They say they are reconsidering the whole magazine idea, and also pondering with a true paper one... We'll see...

By chance, just found a small article about Blake's 7 in a French magazine called Player Spirit (issue #4 from October 2018).
On the "+" side: 2 screengrabs, detail of the TV show and the game story.
On the "-" side: the article doesn't describe correctly Oric machines, and doesn't mention Chema nor any dowload place.

Better than nothing though ;)

I know it's been a while since anyone commented but I have just started to play this game on my Cumana Reborn. The whole look of this game is amazing and it really makes you think. It is thoroughly enjoyable. The music and graphics are outstanding. If only we had games of this quality back in the day.

Here is a patch which swaps up and down directions of the IJK-joystick in Blake's 7:
Changes are to be applied on the DSK file using hex-editor.
For ver.1.0 at offset $2BD8:

Code: Select all

$2BD8: 04 01 02 10 08 -> 04 01 02 08 10
For ver.1.2 and the last 1.3 at offset $2BED:

Code: Select all

$2BED: 04 01 02 10 08 -> 04 01 02 08 10
Obviously today is the day of binary hacking :).
