hi artists !!

time to add your game in OGC's catalog

as you know it's usual to put a screenshot & the inlay

no problem for screenshot, put what can we use instead of inlay ?

what do you propose ?

We don't have anything as inlay :( No time for doing it myself now... Dbug proposed a very cool idea.

In the meantime I suggest to use a screenshot from the intro... the one with the moonbase surface and the SPACE:1999 lettering for instance...

Cheers.

Thanks Chema for the 1.0 ! The new screens in the intro are quite good !

I took a quick look at the French version and saw 2 things on the game main screen, before the game starts:
- "drop" is translated by "baisse", which is wrong, should be "poser"
- "ESC to play" was replaced by "ESC pour jouer", which is longer and seems to crush a color attribute, so the yellow color of the text "corrupts" the right of the screen

Nothing that prevents from playing, though :)
(actually, I didn't have time to try playing yet ;))
Thanks!
I have solved those two bugs and sent an update version to Oricgames...

Cheers.

Oops. Just answered in Oricgames...

No. The game does not support other disk systems apart from Microdisc. If I had the routines I might build up a Jasmin version...

If you can get Jasmin routine, I will consider doing a patched version of the demos for the Jasmin...

Since I don't have the source code of most parts, that will be "funny" to do...

I don't even know how to "boot" a disk on the jasmin. I know you have to press a button AFTER the system is started, and that's about it.

Yes, you start the system, the On/Off button starts the Jasmin and the Oric (Oric is powered by the Jasmin)
Then there is the button "boot" to press, and the FTDOS is loaded in Oric. In Euphoric, the boot button is the F6 key, it does the same.
Then you can use the Jasmin commands : !CAT, !RS, etc...

Hi,
With Jede's help, I have resumed the update of www.oric.org software section.
My goal was to add, when I had spare time, a few of the scans I was doing.

But I notice Space 1999 is not listed.
I will try to make a new entry.
If needed, can you guys send me the latest UK and French versions, or a pointer to download them? I wouldn't like to upload an "old" version by accident ;)

Thanks a lot for the link, Dbug.

Now, Chema, could you tell me if it's OK to have the games available on oric.org or if you want to keep them on a single download place?

Also, on Oric.org, the game download is separate from the other "stuff" (manual and so on).
So I'll add the manual in the "stuff" section, but for the game download, do you prefer us to keep the same ZIP than yours, including everything?

Finally, to describe the author, do you want me to use your nickname or can I use your real name?

Greetings.

Yes. I think those are the final versions (at least they seem so, the latest modification in the french version -a translation bug- seems to be corrected). However I find it strange that those versions are named Space1999-en.dsk or Space1999-fr.dsk (same things to the manual and readme) when I just used manual.txt and readme.txt and named the english version space99.dsk and the french version cosmos99.dsk.

Did anybody touch those? No problem, just find it strange :)

On the other questions of course its is OK to have them in Oric.org. That was my initial idea and also I don't mind to have them in several places. The more they spread, the better... unless anybody hosting the files thinks otherwise...

With today's internet access I don't see a problem in having everything in one zip... it is easier. What do you think? In oricgames they have it as separate options, here in defence-force as a single file...

And you can use my name Chema (which is also my nick). Or my full name (Jose Maria Enguita, Chema justs stands for Jose Maria). Just don't forget to add Twilighte and Dbug as authors also :)

Thanks indeed!

You're bloody right! And Maximus for the translation.
Twilighte, Dbug, how do you prefer being called in oric.org?
I see Dbug is almost always creditied as... Dbug! But Twilighte is mainly credited with his real name...

Greetings.

Just a small note. Space:1999 sources have been uploaded to the defence-force svn server (thanks Dbug!).

I am not sure if it could be built correctly with the default OSDK distribution. At least it will need the taptap utility and the latest version of tap2dsk which permits to add a INIST and other details to the generated disk.

If anybody tries, let me know... :)

It is here: http://miniserve.defence-force.org/svn/ ... ric/games/

It includes all the tools (the pic conversion and map generation utilities, text compression, map editor...)

Of course WHITE+NOISE are in their own directories, so if you are interested in building your own isometric game, you are welcome :)

Cheers.

That's cool, I'm happy to see that people find the SVN server useful, and the more stuff on it, the more useful it will be for others :)
