Development of Blake's 7 (was OASIS development)
Re: OASIS development
Thanks for your kind words! I'm glad you like it
Dave, indeed Dbug is correct. And not only the tools; after all I am standing on the shoulders of giants. If Gillbert and Winnick hadn't produced Maniac Mansion I wouldn't know what to do And the same states for the rest of my games.

Re: OASIS development
Just in case you did not notice the last video in my channel, here it is with the main character, Roj Blake, moving around.
https://youtu.be/86JLZqutyoA
There are some rendering errors due to the larger size of the character and the size of the room walkboxes, which have already been corrected.
In addition I made two more rooms, needed to solve the puzzle for Episode 1. I hope you like them
A full demo of the first Episode (or the main part of it) is nearer...

Re: OASIS development
That's getting seriously impressive
Just as it is now, that's already the largest example of horizontal scroller with a large fully masked sprite!

Re: OASIS development
That Soviet Worker Green is surprisingly similar to the hue reflected in my experiences during work at a cubicle farm. Productive, Comrade!
Re: OASIS development
Take a look at this video of the game as it is now loading from a real floppy disk. You can see how the loading speed on real hardware (with mechanical parts) will be. It is slower than on a Cumulus or an emulator, but it is not that bad... I am quite happy.

P.S. Sorry for the typos in the texts... I need to revise them. (I know, I know, it is syringe)

Re: OASIS development
Is it using compressed resources?
Re: OASIS development
Yes, Dbug. Data is compressed in disk and decompressed on the fly with your stunning routines
Re: OASIS development
Funny how much it changed since the first versions
