The Graphic Suite

The Oric video chip is not an easy beast to master, so any trick or method that allows to achieve nice visual results is welcome. Don't hesitate to comment (nicely) other people tricks and pictures :)

The Graphic Suite

Post by Twilighte »

The Graphic Suite is a set of three programs selected from a central TGS menu.
Exiting from any editor will return the user to the TGS main menu.

HIDE - HIRES Bit editor
HIRESMAN - HIRES MANipulator
CBM - HIRES Graphic Map Editor

The zip file contains manuals for all three editors plus the TGS disk.
Please note this software is only compatible with Oric Atmos V1.1 + Sedoric Disk system

You are The Best, Twi... Tanks for this... I need to find time to give it a try, but if it is just half as good as Hide alone, it will be incredible.

Has anyone ended up doing something with this recently? I'm continuing my effort to understand and become competent with native-Oric tools for doing things like graphics (and sound) editing, and so .. I'm unpacking TGS and reading the docs. Would love to know if anyone else has come very far with using these tools confidently?

I gave it a try long ago. The tools are fantastic, but oriented to Twilighte's own project. And it runs directly on the Oric, so a lot of steps to adapt for your own projects.

In which ways are they Twilighte oriented?
Are they are geared toward AIC or stuff like that?

Can't remember the details, but he created them for his new project, so I am not sure how difficult it was to adapt the format of generated data. You could edit maps, levels, objects, sprites... but the info and format used was for his project.
