HIRESMAN

The Oric video chip is not an easy beast to master, so any trick or method that allows to achieve nice visual results is welcome. Don't hesitate to comment (nicely) other people tricks and pictures :)

HIRESMAN

Post by Twilighte »

About to be released will be another tool (see CBM in Cross dev tools) that allows one to select any area of a HIRES screen and manipulate it in the following ways...

Bit Scroll Left
Bit Scroll Right

Byte Scroll Left
Byte Scroll Right
Byte Scroll Up
Byte Scroll Down

Remove Inverse
Remove Attributes

Flip
Mirror

Clear
Copy
Cut
Paste

Just adding one final feature to dump the selected area to the printer as xa compliant .byt statements.
I will provide a preliminary release here but then will create a central menu where one can select HIDE, CBM or HIRESMAN.

Great Twiligte! Advanced painting tools such as HIDE (which I used quite a lot) and the forthcoming CBM are a bless for those wanting to program things on the Oric.

Thank you very much! You rock!

Thanks Symoon - that is very interesting, and in fact quite topical as it seems Twilighte has implemented a few of the things I'm trying to do with my Oric project .. so as always, so much to learn from the master.

Is there a repository of Twilighte's tools in addition (I suppose) to his website?
Seems he was quite prolific it would certainly be useful to have them available from a central location, maybe a page in the defence force wiki?

Yes, I would second the call for a "Twilighte Archives Project" .. there is so much that he left behind, buried in this forum and in the SVN, as well as all over the Internet .. before things get too dusty, perhaps we should try to preserve it all in a single source, somehow? I'm still finding gems left for us by Twilighte around the places ..
