Oric-1 RGB to SCART - pin 8?

Hello, I'm going to make a RGB video to SCART buffer, as described here http://www.defence-force.org/computing/oric/hardware/video/ for my Oric-1. I have read all the old threads about video out to SCART on the Oric, and nowhere is pin 8 on the SCART connector mentioned, which is defined as Pin 8 St...

Re: Using GBS-8200 with Oric - things to look out for?

No schematics, sorry. However, this thread has links to a Google drive with data sheets for the chips on the board. The TVIA 5725 chip runs of 3.3V and if you run input signal above "right" levels you wiil at least confuse it, or reduce conversion quality. But it is apparently also possibl...

Using GBS-8200 with Oric - things to look out for?

Hello, I'm thinking of using a GBS-8200 (you know, like these https://github.com/ramapcsx2/gbs-control/wiki/GBS-8200-Variants ) with my Oric-1. Are there things I need to think of before connecting it to my Oric-1? On some machines you need to use resistors on the video / sync signals to reduce the ...

Re: PC to Oric 3.5" floppy

This might be an interesting project: FluxEngine . Currently it only supports standard IBM PC format and a Brother Word Processor format, but the project is open source and the hardware is quite cheap. Downsides (for me at least): the necessary development tool - Cypress' PSoC Creator - runs only on...

Re: ORIC SDCARD

I agree - nice project - well done!
Maybe I should unpack my Oric-1 and see if it still works.

Re: Photocopies

FWIW, OCR is still useful for PDF files even if the OCR'ed text isn't corrected by a human afterwards. This mainly goes for PDF files put online somewhere. Search machines (like Google) will use the OCRed text when they add to their index, and then it is easier to locate such PDF files when you sear...

Re: Re Cumlulus Build

the CoCo SDC is an elegant solution. The question is, could we make a solution this elegant for the Oric?

Re: Cumulus replacement ?

as Godzil and iss says: it is quite easy to replace a floppy drive with a Raspberry Pi. Replacing a controller + a floppy drive is a different task. I think you will find that the Raspberry Pi have too few I/O lines to do this. And the timing of all the signals involved will be hard to get working.

Oh, those Sharp x68k's are nice, but hard to get (and expensive).
Nice pictures, nice writeup and report - thanks for sharing.
