Re: New tools in the OSDK
christian: sounds great - and for sure we would benefit from having the FUSE utility while debugging the Cumulus hardware, it'll make things a lot easier to inspect if we have access to this tool .. will you be sharing it with us under F/OSS terms, or can we somehow otherwise rely on it as a tool in...

Re: New tools in the OSDK
Since a goal for Cumulus is going to be getting .DSK support up and running as fast as possible, I'm sure I'll be interested in helping/looking at the makedsk code to update it for more modern compilers/build-environments .. so thanks for the info Dbug! By my point of view, it'd be nice to have a FU...

Re: Microdisc replacement project
I'm going to do everything I can to help get this debugged! Imagine if we all had working cumulus', how much easier it'd be to maintain our Oric systems!

Very much looking forward to your first playable release - and also, when you're done, I'm looking forward to coming back to this thread and reading the details you've written while I'm browsing your sources, so I can learn something valuable while I'm at it!

Re: Microdisc replacement project
I would love to help! I have one of the original cumulus boards which might be of some service, and I am well-versed in embedded (20 yrs experience at the OS level). If you just want to sell me the working hardware, I would love to contribute, and then we can work together through a common repositor...

Re: Microdisc replacement project
I'll buy 3, no question about it! And I'll test it on my Oric-1, all of the (5x) Atmos' I have, as well as the Telestrat.
Just tell me when and where to send the cash, and I'm all in!

Re: TAP/mulator
Seems like its something that could be hacked together pretty quickly, as a prototype, using a small PC - like the OpenPandora, or something. Or heck, even an Android/iOS app .. ?

Re: Fast scrolling game howto, anyone?
Looks awesome Chema! For the lower screen, why not have a text area that can be used to provide hints about whats going on in the game - short text messages that explain "you are close to the base, keep going." or "new wave approaching .." and so on .. ? As for the colors - I rea...

Re: TAP/mulator
I enjoy the hacks - but I can't help feeling I'd prefer it if Cumulus returned and we just got plain 'ol, 100% compatible hardware emulation - with an external interface for selecting .TAP and .DSK files .. But either way, great that there are more minds on this problem! I look forward to one day ha...

Re: OricSD
I concur with DBug - pass-through would be nice, but MIDI support would be amazing. I've got 6 Atmos machines, an Oric and a Telestrat - if I could MIDI them all up, I'd be very, very happy.. as I'd use them to compose music, of course!

Re: TAP/mulator
One thing I don't understand is what the /GAMES part does in the CLOAD command in that video .. was that a normal part of Oric basic, and I've just learned something new, or is it an extension/hack?
