Yeah its not meant to be cheap, just provide me with a decent set of tools to do the debugging and so on .. plus I won't be permanently installing all this on my Oric once its working - just using it as a stepping stone to - perhaps - doing a design based around the ATMega1280 .. there are cheaper s...

Just wanted to give an update on this .. I've been setting up the hardware for this project and haven't made much real progress - yet - on actually doing anything interesting, but I wanted to let you know I have an Arduino Mega now set up with this display: http://www.4dsystems.com.au/prod.php?id=83...

hmm .. I just downloaded it to test, and have some problems with the keyboard: 1. For some reason the " key doesn't work. (double-quotes) 2. Arrow keys dont work in the file selector at all - only the mouse works .. 3. After pulling up the menu with F1 a few times, it gets gradually slower and slowe...

Nice one! I don't quite understand how you managed to get the colors going in the HUD like that, though .. Doesn't seem to me like thats possible without color-clash of the attribute bytes, but I've seen this in a lot of your software for the Oric and I still don't quite understand it .. I would've ...

Hi Borat - welcome back to the Oric scene! Like you, an Oric (1) was my first computer and I recently got myself *finally* upgraded to an Oric Atmos .. I always wanted one but never got one, and by the time I was able to afford to buy my own computer hardware, Atmos was long since history - so its v...

Okay, I have an Arduino Mega+centronics cable that I will try to set up on the weekend .. Now beginning my journey into oriculator drive code, thus to formulate a strategy.

This is brilliant, and inspiring me to do a bit of demo code too .. But perhaps there is an interesting bug with Oricutron here? I press the 1/2/3/4 keys and not much happens - only 1 seems to turn off the box and turn it back on again - what are the other keys supposed to do? If I rapidly hit 1 2 3...

So you're saying we'd just need to 'code the flipside' of what Oricutron has implemented? Thats very interesting .. and quite an attainable 'first step' towards the goal. Has anyone got any input on what it would take to get the Arduino Mega hooked up to the Oric Dataport, physically, in order to pr...

I think the more productive approach is one that fulfills the following requirements: ** Provides a nice handy solution to those of us not fortunate enough to have mircrodisc drives. ** Is relatively plug and play - you plug it in and you can use your exist DSK files. ** Requires *NO* modifications ...

An ArduinoMega seems ideal for this problem, no? I mean, it has plenty of i/o that can be used to simulate the floppy interface, its easily programmed, and can support a wide variety of peripherals for expansion and continued hacking. If someone who knew enough about the hardware would confirm that ...

I absolutely want to get involved in further development of this hardware .. and I agree that it should function as a .DSK jukebox with floppy emulation. What we need is a microcontroller with enough data i/o pins to communicate to Oric DOS/SEDORIC etc. sufficiently well enough to do a real emulatio...

Oh darn I do not have a Microdisc.. :( If someone would tell me where to buy one, I've been ready for it for 20 years! :) I wish I'd won the last one on EBay but it seems like they're really being scouted by collectors/people who aren't using them.

I yearn for a Microdisc!

Okay .. so its not ELITE .. EVEN BETTER! This is a game thats in the genre of Elite, but will *never* exist on an Amstrad! Muahahahahah! :) Wish I could pitch in on the technical side of this thread, but I can't so I'll just pipe down now and watch you guys sort it out, eagerly awaiting the day when...

Can't wait to have an Atmos on the Pandora, that is going to seriously kick butt!
