Re: OricExos - making the impossible

If it is linked with the system warming, I would look for capacitors which could start to fail, or simply it is one of the RAM chip which is starting to fail.

You should test these ORICes independently with a long memory test to check if there is no chip that is on the verge of failing

Re: oric advanced user guide is still available

I do have the book, but not the hardware to scan it properly :/ But I do know how to make a proper tool to do that, but miss a proper hackspace nearby :/ All is needed is some acrylic sheets, laser cutter, some hot air, a good DSLR and the proper software (and things to attach the DSLR) The actylic ...

Re: Identifying Oric-1

Honestly I do think it is better to look at the ROM itself as this value is in RAM and can easily be changed

Re: Cumulus incompability solved, i think.

It may hide the problem for some people, or create new for other. Try and see but I can't promise that it will really fix for everyone. The real problem is in the CPLD, the code do a lot of things wrong, and we can't update the existing one in the field (nor I would recommend to be honest). [hr] Aft...

Re: Oric 1 display in North America

It is really time to have a proper Oric to VGA hardware, but my project todolist is already that big so don't expect it (from me) soon :/

Re: Clock problems

Phi2 have to be buffered, this is neither a TTL or a CMOS signal, but an unbuffered signal inside the 6502. By the way the original 6502 is using NMOS logic, which is neither CMOS not TTL and is in fact not completely compatible. I mean it compatible is or the Oric would not work at all, but the out...

Which would be useless as it would only work on theses cumuluses.

Re: How to install a 3" floppy drive on a modern pc?

Well that would be an interesting project to make a proper USB-FDC that can handle any type of floppy and no fancy expensive thing like the KryoFlux. You will be able to make copy of a floppy dumped using it but I highly doubt from a DSK. Why not using an Oric with a microdisc and an HxC ? You load ...

Re: Cumulus Firware Compilation

The EEPROM contain only the microdisk ROM and nothing else. (which is on a legal point a view quite problematic to be honest)

I don't have an oric by hand, which transistor is this one?

I mean where is it located?

Is it TR2? (keyboard related one)
